Busy Time of Year

Time to check in again. I wanted to make sure that I reach out and communicate directly with you guys as we get ready for a couple of weeks of team practices. Things are going well for me this offseason – still working hard in Arizona (although I took a brief golf vacation with my family about a week ago. We get very competitive!).

I returned to Philadelphia late last week and got a workout in at NovaCare. I was able to catch up with some of the rookies who were here for a few extra sessions to get up to speed. Although I didn’t see their workouts, the buzz in the building is that everyone is working hard and learning the playbook. It will be good to all work together for the next couple weeks and I’m hopeful that a few of them will be able to make it to Arizona in July to get some extra work in together before reporting to training camp.

I love this time of year. Besides the two weeks of our football practices, June has also been a time for me and my Foundation and also the Eagles organization to try to make a difference in the Philadelphia community. Every year the team re-builds a playground at a local school for EYP. The Donovan McNabb Foundation, that we established 10 years ago, will hold a free football clinic for kids this Saturday. Later this month the Donovan McNabb Diabetes Camp for Kids run by the ADA will take place for the seventh year. June is also the month of Father’s Day which takes on an added meaning this year. First off I now have three great kids. As a reminder of how lucky I am, I will receive the Father of the Year Award from the American Diabetes Association next week.

I don’t take any of these things lightly nor do I take them for granted. I am truly blessed.

It seems that your life is right where you want it to be. I'm extremely happy for you. I'm excited about this season as well. I watched the videos on Philadelphiaeagles.com from Maclin, McCoy, and Andrews and it has me thinking positive about the upcoming season. I'm glad you're still here to lead our team. Good to see that you are in Philly and ready to go for the next couple weeks of OTAs. Too bad it’s not training camp that’s starting this week. All it means is we still have some time before the season starts.

Im not mcnabb so sorry for medling into your Question to DMAC i think Jeremy Maclin Was toying with the notion of going to arizona or staying around the Nova Care Complex but if he stays he may try to finish studies cuz he isnt completely done college but i could be Right I think He will because If Maclin Stated that Mcnabb told him that he will be used in the Offense to be one of the top WR cuz he wasnt picked first round for nothing an just to return punts his Role is to be a WR on the offense with Mcnabb on the Helm... So i would think he is going to Arizona but im not Maclin to decide that or mcnabb to answer ur questions Bleeding_green... Just saying LOL sorry

First let me say, " Good Luck this year". I think the Eagles have a Solid and Deep team this year. How much will the loss of B-Dawk be felt this year? How are the SS and FS postioned looking thing so far? Do you think Victor Macho Harris is being groomed to be #20's successor? GOOD LUCK #5!!!!!!!!!!!

How many other fans are lucky enough to have the quarterback of their favorite team communicate with them and give them updates on whats goin down, not only with the team, but in their lives. I think its commendable that Mcnabb stands up to the haters and lets it be known that they cant faze him. He's out to prove them all wrong and I think deep down, he knows that the majority of us Eagle fans have his back 100%. Its been a joy to watch him play over the years and I cant wait to root him and the rest of the team on in 2009. Hes gonna do everything he can to bring the trophy home to Philly. See ya at the Linc in september and see ya on Broad street in February Donnie. Keep workin hard.

DMac - Congrats on the truly importantly things in life, family and fatherhood. On the football side of things, showcase that 4 and 26 game, the long ball, the 6-10 yard scramble for a gain, the complete package. Translation- keep doing what you do. Know one thing, this year the 99% will be louder the 1%(media,haters,yellow journalist). They have been gettin a free ride on the back of so called philly fans and uninformed passer-by's. Despite what you may think, you are cherished in this city for doing the most with the least, not something you don't already know. It still feels like yesterday when you were winning games with your legs. Wow, we've come a long way. Now you have some weapons. This team should be deadly.
