I wanted to take some time out to respond to a few random postings. Please keep your comments coming, I'll be doing this on a regular basis and hopefully I'll be able to respond to yours in the near future.
Thanks for picking my email Donovan! I appreciate your explanation of the shotgun vs. under center. That's why your loved on YB for answering your fans.
Thank you Donovan. To tell you the truth, I don't listen to what anyone says anymore. I was infuriated at the Eagles/Steelers game, the opening comments by the announcers......they never mentioned us at all.
You look great! Laughed at the shot of you on Sunday saying hello to the crowd. This Philly in Kansas thanks heaven for my NFL Season Ticket. See you all next time you come to play the Chiefs...or sooner I hope.
Nice. I like that you've decided to take the time to really reach out to us fans. I realize you don't need to do that at all, so it's really cool that you are. Thanks for the updates Donovan. I look forward to the next one!
Wow, thanks for the video response Donovan. I wish more athletes would interact with fans over the web... it means a great deal to us! I thought the Eagles had plenty of opportunities to win the game last week, and a couple fluke plays just happened to go the Packers way. Had it been later in the season you guys would have pulled it off. To me it seems like the players are still getting used to one another, and I'm confident that in the next few weeks the offense will improve.
It's real cool of you to take the time out to respond to the posts and comments. Now, that you are, maybe you can answer this for me...why did you decide to cut your hair? Don't get me wrong, you look good, but just curious.
#5 you are the best hands down! Great to hear that the team tunes out any negativity from ESPN because they flip-flop more than Washington DC. I've got a question: Does this current WR group make it easier to work through your progressions and spread the ball around? It seems to me that this is the first time you don't have to deal with one guy demanding the ball be thrown their direction, please correct me if I am mistaken. Spreading the ball around is definitely one of your strong points, and something I look forward too week in and week out. And I always do appreciate the #5 to 82 over the middle action. Thanks again for keeping us fans informed out in the YARD!
Donovan, you are the man. It is so great that you are actually responding to your fans. Many superstar, franchise players like yourself don't make themselves as open and I respect you for that. Just wanted to say thanks for caring about your fans and good luck this season.
Hey donovan, love hearing you talk dude! My roommate is a big redskins fan, so we will be watching you on monday. Wish I could make it to a game or two this year, but I'll be cheering hard from home. Good luck playa!
Hey - we're all big Donovan fans. He's my franchise starter QB for fantasy. Check out this site that allows you and others to predict his performance from a fantasy perspective. Clearly Donovan is going to put up some good numbers. Forget about the critics, let the people speak.
Hi Donovan, big fan of Philly here in Washington, not D.C. I'm very greatful that you have recovered from your injury. I too am sick of the guys on Sportcenter. All those guys say is that,
Though I admit I am a Patriots fan it is refreshing for me to see star athletes such as yourself take time out of your day to respond to questions from the fans. I admire your work ethic and determination to come back from your injury. If you have the time could you give us fans a walk through of a typical day as a pro football player? Keep up the good work and good luck!
Awesome job!!! I love that you are gettin envolved with your fans. We know that your schedule is crazy but you have to understand we are dedicated too.. Can't wait to see what you hhave for us Monday night!!!
Donovan, I just wanted to say that I couldn't be happier with your performance over the years. You are the most dynamic player in the NFL, and as long as you're on the field, the Eagles always have a shot at the Ring. I hope you stick with the Eagles, and they stick with you. I have no doubt that you will be the one to bring the Super Bowl Banner to Philly. Keep doing what you do. I think this team can be better than 2004. It may just take a little more time to get this thing rolling than we would all like. Shut up your critics this week. Thanks Jason
Classic D. Not only do you take time out of your day to blog with us, but you now make it a point to respond to us. You have always seemed like a good guy, and this shows your true personality.
This is really cool that you take the time out of your schedule to interact with your fans. You are a true class act. I met you last winter and wanted to say something to you, but you seemed to be in a hurry so I didn't bother; I know that in the media, you are always hearing people talking crap about you and I'm sure you don't pay much attention to it but I just hope that you realize that the haters only represent a miniscule percentage of Eagles fans. We are extremely happy that you are our QB and we look forward to many more years with you in midnight green. P.S. One thing that does bug me though. I work at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital as a valet driver and I valeted your car a few times at the ER/Trauma Center and you didn't tip me at all. I realize that just because you have it doesn't mean that you need to blow it, but you could have at least given me a dollar. Tips are how I make my living. Anyways, good luck this season and have fun.
Wow! I am so excited that you took the time to make a video to respond to your fans. You are awesome. I will have to sleep in my NFC Champion t-shirt tonight. Proud to be a Philly and Donovan fan...
Donovan,
Hey that was awesome. It's really cool that you are doing this. I know you all will do great this year and I doubt Dallas will have the NFC East championship. We will hopefully make it to philly this year again to see you all or when you come to washington. Either one we will be there watching the entire game supporting you all til the end of it. Keep up the good work and Keep your head up. You are the best there's no doubt about that. We love you and the Eagles!!!! Is Sheppard coming back anytime soon??? I'd like to see him play also. Kick some SKINS butts Monday night..
All I can say is wow, Donovan. This was definitely not expected. For you to take the time to respond to us in a situation where you could have easily let it be? Man, I can't put it in words, but it's a very, very awesome thing. Am I being too ''out there'' if I propose.... Donovan for President???
My little 5 year old boy wears your jersey proudly. His Dad does too. The Army of '5' is behind you. Hopefully you're feeling our good vibe. Good luck against Washington. Best...
Wow - that was great. I really like that you're taking the time to respond to the comments you're getting and give us some insights into how you and the rest of the team are doing. I don't know where you're finding the time to do this, but I appreciate it. And I know that the rest of your fans do, too.
The GB game was ugly but in a way, it was so bizarre it was comforting. I am sure if the defense continues to hold teams to 3 offensive points, which is what really happened there, we'll be fine.
Absolutely unreal! DM, I'm old school, back in a time when players were blue collar workers in the off season, to help support thier families. They would sit and talk with fans at local bars, resturants etc.. Today, with the money players make, and the way the media has turned sports into a proverbial circus, the athletes really can not do that any more.
Thanks for bringing the athlete back to humanity. Best of luck on the season and no, not from an Eagles fan, just fan of sportsmanship, which yes, does include us fans. Tim
Great to see you responding to some of the posts! I think video is more effective than print. Your PR people should be doing a better job talking up your blog. There are tens of thousands of Eagles fans that would love to be a part of this if they knew about it. Hope you have an amazing game on Monday night!
Wow ....like chris farley said in TommyBoy " That was AWESOME!"
McNabbulous is just that, this team is a team of stars not one or two superstars. this is One team and One city and all the fans of this team are behind it! in my mind their is no question this a super bowl caliber team. and i expect as the season finishes up all questions and doubts will be answered!
Now go out and score a touchdown 1 2 3!
What up Five? It's Bigg Bee. The King of Cars, u know who it is. Just was wondering when you are going to come in and pick up your New Subaru Forester???
Good Luck Monday. It will be fun to watch an offense that has the potential to be the best in the league this season. By the way, score an extra TD or two for my fantasy team.
This is awsome, I never thought I'd see an athlete responding directly to his fans like this. D-Mac is all class baby, and your right, its only the first game. Good luck Monday, I'll be wearing my #5 jearsy while watching the game.
We love you up here in Cuse. Our football team is sorry again this year, its kind of embarrassing. Can we see some Donovan of old with you pullin the ball in and taking off down feild?
It is great to see a genuine class act respond to comments from the fan base. Any chance of getting BDawk or Westy on here? That would be nice, but what you're doing here is enough and brings it home to the fans that what happened in Green Bay bothers you even more than us. Hopefully you and the rest of the guys have knocked off most of the rust and we can now go 15-1! That would also be nice, but like you said- one game at a time. Good luck Monday night, here's hoping you and the rest of the O put up 41 points against Washington. I'm a Marine stationed in Redskins country and the fans here need a reminder that they're not headed to the SB just yet.
Donovan,
First off, I want to say that you are an absolute class guy. Off the field or on it, I can't think of many public figures that I admire more. Even if you couldn't throw the ball to save your life, you would be a great man. As a lifelong Eagles fan and a native son of Philadelphia, I've been here with you every step of the way. You've had to endure about as much criticism as anyone in this city, and 99% of it has not been justified. I could go on and on about how great a player and person you are, but the #1 thing I want you to know is that WE ARE BEHIND YOU. The entire city wants nothing more than for you to lead us to a championship and to celebrate with you. Seeing you hoist the Lombardi would forever eclipse Rocky at the top of the Art Museum steps as THE image of this city -- and I know it's going to happen. Keep your head up and your heart strong, keep the faith in God and everything will fall into place. You've got an entire city rooting for you, whether they will admit it or not. You've given us your body and soul, and we want to see your efforts repaid. Here's hoping you're wearing Eagles' green and starting behind center until you're as old as #4, and with few more rings to boot.
I can not imagine how you are feeling about tonight lost. I know I am like dang can we get a win. Things may not appear to be working right now with the team; however, keep your head up and remain positive. I have faith in this team and I know that you guys can pull it off. Lets Go E A G L E S.! You handled yourself very well during the after game interview. #5 FAN!
Yeah Donovan, Are you okay? Is the knee messing with you? You were way off in the first half but stepped it up alittle in the second. No we didn't get the touchdown or win the game but you did improve in the second half. Is Dawkins okay? It is only the second game, so I'm not worried yet I know you and the eagles can step it up. You all have to stay focused, keep your heads up. I know the eagles can still do this. I know you all can make things happen. I believe in you.
We needed weapons for Donovan McNabb not Kevin Kolb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What's Andy doing to help his team win? We shoulda got rid of Big Red not The AX!
All I can say is KEEP YOUR HEAD UP, and you're doing fine. We are only in the beginning of the season, so no matter what happens we're still behind you 120%. This is philly we give everyone a hard time but we mean well. However people also should that know recovering from a torn ACL is no joke it takes A LONG time to heal at least a year and a half, and you're already back in action in less the time, that says a lot about you, thanks. You're always going to be our leading QB, and you're going to be the one thats going to lead us to a superbowl win. Because you're still good!
Hey Donovan. Tough night tonight, at home. I think the toughest part is the hometown fans. You'd be glad to know Big Charles Barkley had your and Andy Reid's backs, as well did the other commentators. You're the man Donovan. You know how the Philly fans can be - they boo Santa! Let it roll off your back because they'll be lovin' you again soon. I never stop. I was born and raised there in Philly, and I love how unloving the fans in the City of Brotherly Love can be! They're crazy. I'm not a fair-weather fan, though. I pick the Eagles straight out in my football pools every week, every season - and we play the spreads! It's ride or die, baby! I live on the gulf coast now, in Mobile, AL, and last season when you played the Saints in the dome Oct 15, I was there in my Philly Eagles ladies tee - proud. I think I jinxed y'all, though, 'cause that was the first loss of the season for you! My bad. I was impressed with just how many Eagles fans were there, too. Anyway. I just wanted to send you some true Eagles fan love, from down under! Philly - my first love! xoxoxo - PhillyCaliAliCat
I just want to give you a big thumbs up- I think it is outstanding the way you respond and communicate with your fans. I wish you nothing but the best.
With a loss to Detroit next week we may have to win 10 or 11 out of the remaining 13 games to get in the playoffs. Does anyone really see this happening? We should be 2-0 now not 0-2.
I started a blog "Is 75% good enough?". Apparently it is not so far. I will be elated if I am proven wrong.
Correct me if I am wrong but isn't Donovan 6 wins and 14 losses in his last 20 starts? I would like for "Donovan to Respond" to this:
"ESPN reporters were saying Kevin Kolb was the only person in the Eagles' locker room attempting to get the team fired up when every player had their head down. Really? McNabb, Westbrook, Dawkins, Kearse, or Spikes isn't getting the team fired up to to go out in the second half and win the game? The third string rookie quarterback is the only person who wants to assume the leadership role? Thats awful." source: http://www.allphiladelphiasports.com/blog.php?bid=235
It wasn't the locker room they were talking about. It was leaving the field going into the tunnel at the end of the first half. They said everybody had their heads down going in. Can you really blame them? I am sure there was A LOT of emotion in that locker room. ESPN loves to bash the birds (except Jaws of course).
DONOVAN MCNABB YOU ARE MY HERO! It's a team game, you are part of a team. A very talented team that is struggling, but we are 7-11 in the first 2 games under Andy Reid, so this is nothing new. Keep your head up, it will come.
Hey Donovan, Tonight's game was tough on everyone, but I'm sure it was hardest on you guys. I was so proud that you were really trying for the win right up until the end. I'm really sorry that some of the fans weren't more supportive. You know better than most the booing nature of the Philly fans. I think you guys just need some more positive energy from Philly and that you are going to be kicking butt really soon! We are totally behind you, Andy Reid and the whole team! GO EAGLES!!!
Donovan, I look forward to your interview on Real Sports. I hope you have legitimite reasons for believing that black QB's face more criticism than white QB's. I bet you won't talk about the Super Bowl for quite some time.
Hey Donovan, I've got a question that most fans are asking...
Granted I am only 20 years old, but I have had Eagles season tickets since I was only 10 years old back in 1997. I have seen many great games over the years and obviously, you are by far the best Eagles QB that I have seen play.
However, what is going on with this playcalling? 3rd and 9 and you throw a 5 yard curl to Curtis. 4th down and whatever to go and you throw the ball 4 yards short to where it has to be. I was mad that you did not take a shot at the endzone when you had the chance last night.
Right now, as a fan, I am disgusted by the way this team is playing as a whole. However, I have faith that you will lead this team back to the NFCCG like you did in 2003 when we got off to an 0-2 start. I will be at the game on Sunday and will continually be there to show my support and love for this Eagles team.
Its going to be hard to watch any more games this year if these two games are any indication of the season ahead. The front office's arrogance with keeping or signing good players is catching up to them.
I hope your timing and confidence comes back D-mac. You look a little late with your throws or the WR's are not on the same page? Must still be preseason. Where's the real Eagles?
You still have a lot fans McNabb, remember that. They'll always be haters, white or black.
Maybe that is becaus we have alittle more faith and we still believe that all things are possible. I have supported mcnabb and the eagles and I will continue to do so. I don't believe that throwing negative comments out their is going to help anything, I think Donovan and the Eagles already know what happened and I sure they aren't very happy about it already, they get enough from the fans in that stadium to need to get it hear. The skins suck but their fans support them all the way. I hate the skins I have to deal with them every lose that we loose to them, which honestly is not very many at all. I live here in md and I am a very proud Eagles fan... You should be too!!!! You'll support him when he's doing great and winning games, but what about right now when he he probably needs us the most. Keep your head up man. ALL EAGLES FANS NEED TO KEEP THEIR HEADS UP....
After the Monday night game I have to ask what happened to the balance that I saw in the Green Bay game. You did a great job in not turning the ball over in a very tough game which I give you a lot of credit for. I though Correll Buckhalter ran well at Lambeau and he didn't get any touches against the Redskins. Not to take anything away from Brian Westbrook, who I also thought ran well on Monday night, but I need help understanding why the running backs are not a bigger part of this Eagles offense. I also thought that rookie running back Tony Hunt would be used in some short yardage situations but that isn't the case so far. The team had so much success last year when there was a commitment to running the football, what kept it from carrying over from just a week ago?
donovan dont worry about monday you tryed your best but we got the lions coming so get contstrated on the game and the season will get better becouse as long as you are the QB thier should be no proplem
ELBASAN TAFA
Keep your head up! As a fan from your SU days Section 129 A 1&2 I have total faith you'l put it all together. My son all look up to you and my middle son wrote his college entrance paper about you perseverance under adversity. Head up Donovan,. Alot of people are behind you.
We need Trotter back because this team has no leader! RUN THE DAMN BALL. 17 carries for 96 yards...and your passing it all over the place with no luck. LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKES, DON
I have decided now since I can't get out of the replays and listening to the fans you all have to deal with year after year booing and yelling and just being plan negative and mean Me and a couple of other eagle fans are coming to Philly to watch you all play and I for one have a big loud mouth and so do a couple of the other people. I promise this time no matter what you all will hear us cheering and supprting you guys all the way til the end. I don't believe that people should boo their own team at all. You guys are out there doing your best and that's what counts. No one ever wants to talk about the good you have done just the negative. Well what about the fact that we have been nfc east champions 5 out of 6 years now. What about the fact that the skins really only get a string of luck with us every once in awhile and they win a game. KEEP YOUR HEAD DON!!!! WE ARE CHEERING FOR YOU!!! GET FIRED UP!!! STAY FOCUSED!!!! We can get them next time let the fans of washington have their fun now because next time it will be us again... I can deal with the fans this time because I live here in Md. but they won't get their chance next game. I know you and the eagles can do this. We love you Donovan and we Love the Eagles!!!!
I am a Patriots fan who lives outside of Boston, and just got through watching Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel. The featured piece on Donovan was wonderful. What a great role model he is for adults and kids alike. My 14-year-old son wears his jersey, and you can't say there are a lot of NFL players you have great admiration for, and he is definitely in that category.. We here in NE have been dealing with the fallout of the Bill Belechick cheating scandal. Unlike many, I was personally appalled by the attitude of most of the Pats fans around here. Sorry, but the
After watching McNabb on Real Sports, it's clear that he believes he's criticized more than white QB's. However, he doesn't give ANY examples. Donovan, can you please explain how you are criticized more often than white QB's? Do you have specific information, or is this merely your opinion? If you are criticized more often than white QB's, then why doesn't anyone else share your opinion? Donovan, you're too sensitive. You've been treated very well by the local and national media. Please explain exactly how black QB's face tougher criticism than white QB's???
thanks for everything donovan ur the man and u've proved yourself time and time again over the years as our quarterabck. you get booed and u get criticism for even the smallest things but no matter what the true philly fans realize that what you have done on the field (shows what ur capable), and how you live off the field makes you a much greater person then most people let themself believe. maybe the first 2 games were tough but u havent played for a while and you said it yourself your leg isnt 100 percent. you'll be back to mvp form in a week or two i know it. youve done such great things for the eagles, the city, and the fans and i know sure as hell i'm not ready to see you leave the eagles or be replaced by some rookie, until they drag you off the field i'll be cheering you on with all the support you'd ever need. your a great player and a great guy which is the most important. your my role model and i respect you more than any other pro player or famous person there is thanks for all the great plays and for trying your ass off everyday for us. keep the production up like you've done so much and try your best to get us a superbowl. screw the critics stay positive. good luck with the rest of the season
Wow, Donovan, this is ridiculously awesome that you would do this. Thanks a lot for giving back to us like this. The immense respect I have for you has grown even more. Tough loss on Monday but there are 14 more games and more time to gel with the team. I really sincerely hope you can find the ability to ignore the negativity that goes on throughout the entire media, from ESPN to 610 WIP. Just play your game, get healthy and let your receivers play their game and good things will follow. You guys started clicking again in the fourth. I hope you can get off to a quick start at home this week against the Lions and get those fans behind you right away. I'm actually making a 20 hour drive by myself from my current home-away-from home in Iowa just to sit in my old season ticket seats with my big brother and I couldn't be more excited to be witness to the start to the Birds turnaround for this season. Keep your head up, Five. You always find a way to get it done, and you will this time too. Let's hit 'em deep this week with White Lightning and Downtown Reggie Brown.
Hey Donavan..I am a big fan of yours. The reason I started supporting the eagles is bcoz of you. I am actually an international student from India. I just feel bad that you have a pretty mediocre supporting cast. And most of the blame on the team poor performance comes on you. Hope you do well soon and make the make the ungrateful fans shut up. God bless.
I was very dissapointed with Donovan's interview on HBO real sports about black quarterbacks taking more heat than white quarterbacks in the NFL. Ask Ron Jaworski (sp?) Sonny Jergison or Roman Gabriel how much they got booed by Philadelphia fans ( oh btw they are all white). What people in Philly dont like is being aloof and arrogance, which is what Donovan was in that interview and has been the past few months. Even Mike Schmidt..a white hall of fame baseball player from the Phillies got booed by Philadelphia fans. I feel like Donovan carries with him the booing from the 1999 draft. There were 50 people there booing the front office because they wanted Ricki Williams. Big deal. Look where he is now. Does Lincoln Financial Field not sell out every game? Did the Philadelphia Inquirer not write a front page article personally apologizing to Donovan a few years ago? Did Philadelphia fans not support Donovan during the Terrell Owens dispute? Is Donovan not receiving a 100+ million dollar contract for 10 years? Donovan is a great athlete, but right now I dont think he knows that because hes not 100%. And instead of admitting hes still hurting, hes throwing poor passes, panicking in the pocket, and making poor decisions when the defense puts pressure on him. So yes, Philadelphia fans will respond when someone we have a lot of faith in continually dissapoints us. It has nothing to do with the color of Donovan's skin. So if Donovan whats to succeed in Philadelphia, I suggest he either admit that hes not 100% and let Kolb come in or shut the hell up and take the heat like a real athlete.
Donovan ... throwing the race card on HBO is weak. While I have never lived in your skin, and I can't say what it's like to be you, I find it very insulting this perception that as a white fan I think less of you as a quarterback (or a person) because you're a black man. I don't see Joey Harrington getting a pass. Or Rex Grossman. Philadelphia fans still get blamed for throwing snowballs at Santa Claus. The Phillies were one of the last teams to integrate. Those two things happened before most fans were alive. My son proudly wears his #5 jersey. As a matter of fact, he proudly wears his #6 Phillies jersey. A couple of knuckleheads got drunk and went to the draft and booed. They made up .0000001% of Eagles fans. I honestly believe that you have been one of the most exciting athletes in Philadelphia history. You just need to grow some thicker skin and learn how to be content. I see Donovan McNabb, Brian Westbrook, Chase Utley, Jimmy Rollins and Ryan Howard as the best athletes in Philadelphia. I could give a crap about the color of their skin. I believe my opinion to be shared by the overwhelming majority. You need to relax that racism garbage. It's insults your intelligence.
Donovan I read your article about Black quarterbacks getting picked apart more than white quarterbacks. I couldn't agree with you more. I have been saying this for a long time and so have other Blacks who watch football. All though I am a Raven's fan. I am also a Black quarterbacks' fan!! I always root for the team with a Black quarterback as long as they are not playing the Ravens (smile)
Don keep your head high!! Stay focused!! Remember you are in a better position then M. Vick!!
Donovan, just want to let you know that I support you 100% The morons that boo are in the minority. Keep your head up. I'm still proudly wearing my #5 jersey. Look forward to seeing you lift the Lombardi trophy in Glendale!
donovan-tough loss last night. Anybody who knows anything knows it'll turn around. Philly loves the eagles, philly loves you. This town needs your enthusiam and confidence & you've always delivered. be well.
Black Quarterbacks CERTAINLY DO have to deal with more criticism. Anyone who thinks otherwise is A) not black B) ignorant C) in denial D) all of the above Face the facts and open up your eyes. Donovan McNabb was 100% on target when he said that! If you don't recognize this then talk with some black QBs or some black people...get their opinion. Ill guarantee that it will be in agreement with McNabb.
BuddyRyan and neamodei, I agree 100% with both of you. Jaworski was booed all the time. These are tough fans. These fans are passionate. If I'm not mistaken, the fans who go to the Eagles' home games have been good to McNabb. I was a season ticket holder at the Vet - so I was there when the fans cheered him on. McNabb sounded so foolish in the Real Sports interview. If he has examples to prove that black QB's are criticized more often than white QB's, then let's hear them. If not, why would he even say something so ridiculous???
Hey D, Just keep playing and you will do your majic. You are the best qb the eagles have ever had. Been a fan for over 20 years. Keep it real # 5. I know this is our year to win the superbowl
The defense and the special teams didn't lose this game. McNabb played horribly. Now we all can watch HBO on Tuesday to hear McNabb say that black QB's get criticized more than white QB's. Joey Harrington is playing better than McNabb.
Hey McNabb,
I heard the comments you made about how others put more pressure on Black QB's... I guess Rush was right, then HUH? Is that the only reason you have for a lack of a ring...
Hi Donovan, First thank you for reading a comment from me last week, I was very proud. I saw your interview and I can't say that everything you said was wrong, but not everyone thinks like that. Yes,there are times when I get frustrated with the way you played insome games, but I am not the expert and I still believe in you and this team. And just for the record I am a 60yr old white female, been a fan for about 40yrs.and I do believe that some people do treat black QB's like you mentioned and Philly fans are no exception. But, please stay focused and strong, I will be rooting for you and the team on Sunday and I might even say a few extra prayers at church Sunday morning. Never say die fan Pat
For some time I have watched you play and I am convinced that you are simply too afraid and need to appear too 'cool' to ever lead this otherwise good football team anywhere again. By adding so much muscle and bulk to be strong and avoid injury, you have left your QB ability in a state of poor shape. It is very sad to know that you have such ability, but do not understand that you have only proven to Eagle fans that you cannot be tough enough to lead us as Garcia did last year. You don't need to be too good, only not make so many foolish plays and mental mistakes like you do EVERY single game. Play ball, and stop talking, showing such a cocky attitude, and we will ALL be much happier! No rasicsm applies anywhere here so please, stop looking for excuses, Donovan, and be the QB you are paid so much to be.
Dear Donovan ,
I want to start off by saying I am a huge fan of yours, I think you are an awsome QB and you seem like a down to earth person, I would love to meet you one day and get your autograph, I would also like to get my hands on your RED practice Jersey, Anyway I am 28 yrs old I recently had surgery on my shoulder at the Rothman institute in philly, I tore my rotator cuff and also had a labrial tear, My injury was in December 2006 and my arm is still not the same not to mention all of the Physical Therapy I have been doing it hurts and it is annoying,I even had one doctor tell me I will never be able to throw like I used to and sometimes it feels like he may be right. Any Advise for me?
I Had a friend that worked for the Eagles his name is Mike Kane, and my Friend Josh's wife is Jeff's Personal Assistant.
Have a good year and keep up the good work!
Yours Friend ,
J.T. Carroll from Norwood Pennsylvania
Donovan you are the best thing that has ever happened to Philly. YOu have class and are humble and I respect that. I think you are great and do not want to face the day when you are no longer able to play. Please do not listed to some fans and media people. Most of us love you and just keep working hard and I know you will bring a Super Bowl to Philly. Then you can tell all your critics where to go
this week your playing dallas.at the tail gate parties out doors they should have a black manocan(no racism here).put a pamper in it called baby owens ,a blue cape,25 gal dallas hat "real big", a football in his hand.and hear a tape play of ot complaining the hole time velcro to his back under his cape.this should make the party real good and fun. just for laughs
Don, Keep your head up and keep working. I feel the Birds' are a few small pieces away from returning to that 12-4 or 13-3 form and getting back to the Bowl. And nothing will feel better than to watch you take us there! E-A-G-L-E-S.....EAGLES!!!!!! -Mark- -Philadelphia-

I just wanted to say that I couldn't be happier with your performance over the years.
Thanks
Jason

The GB game was ugly but in a way, it was so bizarre it was comforting. I am sure if the defense continues to hold teams to 3 offensive points, which is what really happened there, we'll be fine.
Good luck Monday.

Good Luck and God Bless.

You still have a lot fans McNabb, remember that. They'll always be haters, white or black.

Face the facts and open up your eyes. Donovan McNabb was 100% on target when he said that!
