Great Job!

I need to get this off of my chest. I heard a remark today that my thoughts of the game last night was "bittersweet" -- a reference to the blog my mother wrote last year. Outside of the final score there was nothing I didn't like about last night. I loved how A.J. played. He had a couple of throws that he'd like to have back but he shook off the first interception and was able to make plays all night long. He made the right reads, he was decisive and he executed a great game plan. Why must people think just because we play the same position that I can't root for him to do well? He is my teammate so I want him to succeed and that's all that matters. As for the rest of the players and coaches -- I thought they all put their best effort out there. The line protected Ace and gave him time to throw, and the receivers made plays. The mad scientist, Jim Johnson, pulled out all the stops and shut down the high powered Patriots offense. Last night's game reminded me of the final game of my rookie year. It was against the Rams in the final regular season game before their Super Bowl run. We weren't given much of a chance to win that day either. But Jim, created a plan that shut down the Greatest Show on Turf and we did just enough on offense to win the game. The confidence gained from that performance helped push us to bigger and better things soon after that. The only thing that I will be critical about last night is that as good as a performance as it was, it will mean nothing if we don't use it to push ourselves to success in the next five weeks.

D-Mac, I hear you 100%. They are all your team-mates, and for people to think you'd want them to fail is both preposterous and naive. You are a good man, through and through. I just saw the Beyond the Glory on you on FSN Saturday, and it opened my eyes to what you've been through and where you came from. It was put together well.

Regarding the rest of the season, you are right man. Just like last year, we are 5-6 with a brutal Dec stretch coming. The next 4 games are against playoff teams and Super Bowl contenders in the NFC. We need to assert our will in thos games and be aggressive, just like last night, in every game here on out.

Thanks for what you do, the past 9 Eagles seasons have been brighter because of your play overall. You're not really leaving next season are you? I should re-phrase, you dont want to leave do you? I know its a business and some things players cannot control, but I believe that you will always bleed Eagles green.

Get healthy so you can lead the troops on Sunday at home to beat those other birds.

I was watchin your old highlights the other day, damn you were one hell of a football player (not trying to diss you now) I think by now the rust from the ACL should be gone... so I'm assuming you go off this Sunday, play confident, have trust in your receivers, and be the mcnabb you know you can be, alot of people forget you were an elite quarterback in this league once and I still believe if you play your game you still can be, go kick ass Sunday MCNABB!!!!!!!!!!

And by the way...

The Giants game in 2 weeks will be my third of the year, both Eagles wins... (Lions, Jets).

Dating back to 2005, I've been to 5 games.... all Eagles w's, including the playoff game last year.

We'll keep it rolling no doubt. The Giants will have their hands full.

I asked you what did u think my best bet was surgey or no surgery..you told how it was gonna be...i regret asking you if i could do recovery with you i thought since i am a female u would probably say no...lol anyway i wish u luck u have a great heart and you know how to beat the odds..stay up Donovan...oh if you want to make it up to me as far as the whole recovery thing just tell Will James I said holla....lol

d-mac its good to hear from u again when ppl r being so critical about u. i think u hav been under a lot of scrutiny this season since the T.O. drama show in 2005. As an athlete you can not hate on the game AJ had. But there is a difference between him and you. In the clutch situations late, he locked up, while you stay in control.

  Totally disagree on this one. A.J. didn't lock up. He got impatient. He threw an interception and carried the team through to almost win that game. Give him the credit he is due as well. There were a lot of accurate passes and a lot of touch on the ball when it was necessary.
  I don't know what happened to Donovan this year but my guess, and it is only a guess, is that he was also impatient. The doctors approved him to come back and he came back way too early. Healing would have been the better option because then we wouldn't have the controversy that is happening now. Donovan could have been closer to 100% and he would have had a better season and many more seasons to come. I'm afraid that his coming back so early has hurt him more than we all realized but I sure hope he can prove me and the rest wrong. I'd love for him to stay here and be an Eagle to retirement but the good of the team would have been for him to wait patiently and come back fully healthy. Truly, this is all speculation on my part but I would love for someone to come out and be honest.
  A.J. took the blame for the loss. He shouldered it and made no excuses. He handled his post-game interview with poise and honesty. I'd like to see Donovan do that more. He should shoulder the blame as he shoulders the praise. Be honest and earn respect. It seems like hearing the praise is what is preferred but Donovan has to be able to take the bad with the good. I know most fans go overboard with their comments but all exaggeration aside, Donovan should step up and talk about the decisions made and why and then say what he thinks he can do to make improvements in the future.
  Even Donovan's biggest supporter, Howard Eskin, has jumped off the wagon.

You know what? You are a good man. To come and post like you do in response to the constant idiocy out there. I wouldn't even give those fools a second of my time. But since you do, I have to give you credit. I read a reader e-mail in the Atlantic City Press this morning where some mental midget railed on you for not being on the sidelines at the game last night. I guess he missed the memo where injured players don't travel with the team. Or maybe he conveniently "forgot" to better fuel the "Bench McNabb" flames. I don't know WHY so-called fans feel that you somehow turn your back on the team when you're not playing and can't bear to root for your guys. The other day some woman said that you don't CARE about the team. Don't care about the team? Wow. Just wow. Unbelievable. Man, I had to sign off because I was about to rip her asinine comment to shreds, but out of respect for owner of the blog she posted that on, I just backed away.

Well, I hope you feel better and are ready to go Sunday. I'll FINALLY be at an Eagles game at Lincoln Financial Field and I'm going to be happy no matter who plays, but I bought my tickets months ago with McNabb in mind, so I hope I get to see you out there putting on a "Detroit Lion-esque" performance! Get better. No, get BEST!

Hey Don, We still believe in you in Philly. just like there were only 30 fools that booed because they wanted Ricky Williams at the draft , the haters in Philly is a very small. I hope your back playing this week against Seattle and Show the World why you are still one of the Top 3 Quarterbacks in the League. I wish you had the talent Brady and Manning had your whole Career, If you had Moss, TO, Donte Stallworth, Marvin Harrison, and top talent surrounding you, your whole career I know you would shatter Manning and Brady's stats. you only have you and Westbrooke as the Superstar talents on Offense.

Hi there. I just stumbled upon your blog today while checking out your website. Well, first let me say that is was a disheartening loss last night. Although, as an Eagles fan, it brought a lot of pride to see all the players come out to show the talent in each of them that the short-term-memoried media so quickly discounts. It might actually have worked in more than one way in that last night's performance might have sparked the remembrance of what the Philadephia Eagles are capable of - not just to the media, the fans, the rest of the league, but also to the Philly Eagles team itself.
Last night's game had no 'star' - it was a team effort. It's always been a personal observation that everyone in the team plays better when you are not playing and that is not saying anything bad about you. I actually think that they think you are a valuable commodity that the lack of your presence incites them to play better and fill the void. I am not in the locker room or on the field so that is just pure speculation, of course. I hope they continue to bring their A game upon your return.
I PRAY for your health and continued success with the Eagles because this team's success in the last decade is rooted upon your accomplishments - DON'T EVER LET ANYONE TELL YOU OTHERWISE. All this talk of potentially losing you to the Bears or the Vikings just makes me heartbroken and devastated. I believe in your abilities and admire you greatly as a person - looking forward to your leadership to take this team to its rightful spot on top of the NFC for as long as you want to play football. I'm still stunned a bit after last night. But i'm looking forward to seeing Donovan come back and get a chance to do his thing! I think this team is playing with a different level of energy . And it will only get better as the season goes on. To all the people that think that 5 cares what you think or if you boo him you are entirely wrong. Mcnabb has held it down ever since he has taking the reigns of this team and will continue to be the QB here untill he shows that his time has come. I hardly feel 2 poor games ,that may I add we won, says that Donovan has lost his magic. I think that this team as a whole has been missing energy and hasn't really just gone out there and had fun besides the D-town game. As much as I would have liked you to be under center for this past game, I was glad you were not rushed into playing with your recent injuries. It would appear that all those weeks Plaxico Burress had been running on a swolen ankle has caught up to the Giants. Hopefully the swelling has gone down for you and you'll be ready for the final stretch starting with this weeks game against Seattle. Wasn't surprised A.J had some success against the Patriots defense. I remembered watching the game where he ended the long win streak they had before while he was playing in that division. I was surprised at how well the defense played as a unit, guys were playing consistent hard hitting football. The team can build on this momentum, get some wins, and turn it into a solid playoff run. Confidence, focus, balance and there is no limit on what this team can do.

Even though you guys lost, I would say that the New England game was even better than the Detroit game. The team showed plenty of heart on both sides of the ball. I liked the agressiveness period! Great job by the team as well as the coaches.
Great post 'D'! It is consistent with the person that we've come to know.

It was a great game yesterday despite the loss. We saw some really good things yesterday and I really hope that this is the stimulus this team needs for us to go on a tear and lock down a playoff spot. Super 5, I loved the game last night...except of course for the last two throws and the final score. I am feeling the vibe the Eagles have put forth the last 3 weeks and. What can you say about the o line, spectacular! WR's, RB's, TE's all have showed they are capable of moving the chains and scoring. The D is incredible and looking better every week. Feely looked awesome both last week and last night and I can't wait to see you back in the lineup this week. Before the thumb and ankle you were looking better and better. I am from a small town in NE Oregon so I am surrounded by Sea-bird fans. They will be giving it to me all week so please help me rub it in their face!

I wasn't going to acknowledge the haters, but damn. Nuff respect for your hard work to be where you are, barely one year removed from the ACL injury...I'd still be hoblin' around. I'd like to see those analysts and commentators rebound like you have. Basically I just wanna say, we've got your back, old man...just kidding happy belated B-day and GO EAGLES!

I love dropping a game from '99 (!) as a reference. Eagles fans, can we keep up with that?

The team looked great on Sunday across the board -- hope we see the same kind of energy from the whole team against some of the divisional opponents in coming weeks. Even though it was a loss, the team, and especially the defense, played with the kind of enthusiasm that gets us fired up to root for the Eagles.

Hope y'all can take care of the Nerdbirds on Sunday.

I think what you said was wonderful. I have been an eagles fan for about 10yrs. You've always been the guy for us as long as I've been watching. I am sad and worried though. There are a lot of Philly fans wanting you to be done. It seems to be that way with them. It doesn't matter how many playoffs you've gotten us to or how well you've played. You aren't playing well now so they are done with you. I hate that about our fans. I have faith in you and I know you can come back from your injury, just like you did last year and the many years before that. But, please hurry, I don't want to lose you. We NEED you.

  I don't think it's as much the fans as it is the media trying to make a story! Yea some of the fans may be listening to what the media is saying and buying into it - but I think it's only a small amount compared to how many fans are behind McNabb - They will all be back on the bandwagon once they see the whole team stepping up and playing to their potential. It's always been the quarterback who takes the blame for the whole team - when they are losing - you have to pretty much deal with the bad knowing that when you start winning you will be everyone's favorite again!

Hey #5. Being a life-long birds fan in a land of Giants, each game brings excitement and emotion. You make all good points about "ace" and the team. Sunday's game raised the hopes and profile of your (our) team...a game most of the country wanted the Eagles to win. Considering the challenge, and the point spread, A.J., the front line and "the mad scientist's" defence did exactly what your fans knew they would. It was nice to see Brady with that scared look in his eye and not his usual prima dona grin. Now it's time for real leadership. Who is the best person right now to lead the team against the Seahawks? If you're 100%, then do it!

Thank you McNabb for writing that piece. I truly hope you finish your career with the Eagles. I also hope that you never speak to Angelo Cataldi. He does not deserve a second of your time. He constantly bashes your game and is the sole person responsible for all of the negative talk surrounding you. The bottom line for me is this: you are the greatest Eagles QB. If the team lets you leave or cuts you it will be the biggest mistake ever made. I watched your Behind the Glory episode and I am convinced that you will win a super bowl. I just pray it is with the Eagles.

We have one of the best offensive lines in the league and when he doesnt get rid of the ball it makes them look bad, the receivers and McNabb himelf and eventually the coaching staff. If Donavan plays like AJ feely and get that ball out of there then who care if u throw 50 times a game....people like what works and abviously for some reason its not working when McNabb in the QB for our team for some reason? I LOVE McNabb and I always wish he has a close to perfect game but everytime i do that, I see a ball in the ground, an over thrown ball, a sack or McNabb is gettin booed my fans and it makes me sick!!!!

    The line played awesome against my New York Football Giants. It wasn't the line's fault at all that there were 12 sacks, it was all Donovan's. Why he couldn't get the ball out before Umenyora bull rushed right through the line every time is beyond me.

McNabb, I wonder why is it so hard for you to get the ball out in 3 or 4 seconds? As it was stated before, receievers wont be opened forever, the Offensive line wont be able to block forever and it shouldnt take 8 or 10 seconds for you to make a decision on where the ball should be delivered? I hate to compare but Aj feely, jason cambell. brett farve, garcia, payton and many more guys make their offensive line look good because they dont place the pressure on them to block for 10 seconds....someone will eventually penatrate the line. I wish Donavan could answer this question. Are you nervous?? what is it? I am a big fan of Donavan and I want him to do good so bad but when im watching the game and pray for him to do good, its a ball in the ground, a sack, an interception, etc. It just saddens me because every mistake makes 610 wip have so much to say.

D, Would it help your rehab to get in really god shape and drop about 20 , ride the bike, and swim or whatever you can do to get in the condition of an elite athlete...??? Do you have a physical trainer who works you out DAILY, and not just for rehab??? How about diet..??? You're paid as an elite athlete, you should be in the shape of one, especially if you want to LAST in this league... And not just lift weights, you're strong enough already, maybe even TOO bulked up as a QB....Also, how about a passing coach that works with you the rest of the day to nail down your accuracy and technique so that you can throw downfield with confidence instead of holding the ball too long with doubt..??? Maybe you have too adjust your technique re: injuries..??? Everyone would love to see you rebound, however what you're doing right now in terms of preparation does not seem to be working...In other words, you can't just show up and expect to be great......Lastly, a little bit of emotion, not just "aw shucks another day at the office ..." This, of course is why Feeley is getting a "pass" for throwing 3 picks, he looks like it all really matters to him.... Good luck D., hopefully in Philly, but if not wherever you PUT YOURSELF....... I think it was a great game and I really thought we had it until the last 19 seconds when AJ threw outside instead of down the middle like he had been all night.

The media has to do this Qb contraversy thing so they have somthing to talk about. The best thing Reid did was end the speculation right away. Its supost to be a good thing when a team has a capable backup. Only D-Mac can shut them up by showing them hes #1 on Sunday.

I hope that people in Philadelphia, can remember what it was like before you came here. The losing season's, the horrible play at Qb. I don't know why they put you through the ringer like this!! A.J had a great game...you can't take that away from him, but how shortly do we forget the pre-Andy Reid and Mcnabb era. I think where just spoiled or something like that. If you deserved to be benched by your play, than so does P. Manning..yeah they have a better record, but before sunday game you had a better Qb rating, less interception,maybe 200 yrd less in passing, 12 TD vrs 16TD...but by yourself and you alone, your the reason why where 5 and 6. I don't know Bro!! You been the best Qb in our history and done more with less talent...then America's great hope Mr. Manning. I don't want to see you go or see you sit on the bench. I give you tremendous credit for working as hard as you have to come back from an acl injury and ready to play opening day 2 months ahead of time, that ends careers for many players. Always know that you have 2x as much support as you do haters and I believe that you will showcase your talent if you are healthy sunday. If you had the talent that Brady or Manning had at wr, it would be no question that we would have a superbowl at this point. Despite this, you have led us to 4 straight NFC championship games and a superbowl appearance. I appreciate your efforts and hope you stay an eagle for the rest of your career. Jim Johnson gets part of the credit for the Patriots game, defensively. The offense get's credit for our defensive performance as well. Why? Because AJ Feeley had sustainable drives. ZThese gave the defense a chance to rest and it gave the entire team motivation that they were accomplishing something. Donovan has had so many 3 and out, and so many "could have been" with balls thrown into the dirt, or in most cases, ball no thrown at all. That is exhausting for a team to watch and for the defensive unit to have to come back on the field. My two kids and myself have D. Mcnabb shirt on for every game, but AJ Feeley gives us the best chnace to win. AJ had a better record than McNabb wityh the same team in 2002. Garcia had a better record than McNabb with the same team in 2006. Don't you think that should tell us something?

This is the way it should be, having a backup who can beat the best.
We as well as AJ could well be mourning the situation at his alma mater at Oregon, where Dennis Dixon went down, followed by his backup and the third string quarterback. Last week against UCLA they were down to a fourth string freshman and a ha;lfback taking snaps

Unfortunately, many Philly fans are pessimistic, impatient , fair-weather fans and, when it comes to the Eagles, obsessive and dramatic about every little thing. It's almost like people have to try to create a controversy if there isn't one. Donovan has been the driving force behind this team's success over the last several years. He endured the TO and Rush Limbaugh nonsense as well as all of the other negative media stories with class. He has played hurt. He has rehabbed like crazy to get back on the field. He has always been a well-respected player on his team and around the league. He's a very positive role model for kids and never gets into off-the-field trouble. He deserves a lot better treament than he's received from many members of the Philly media and fanbase. He has given this team, this franchise and the fans 110% since he came into the league and he deserves a little bit of loyalty and faith from us. Let's not forget he is coming off an ACL injury that normally takes a full year after getting back on the field to get back to normal. All anyone talked about during the off-season, training camp and pre-season was about Donovan's knee and would he be ready and now people seem to forget that he was ever injured. Donovan, just get yourself healthy and know that the real fans understand and appreciate everything you have done for the Eagles. Just because we aren't the loudest voices out there, doesn't mean that there aren't a lot of us out there supporting you and behind you everytime you step on the field. Once you get fully healthy and are able to get your swagger back, I have no doubts that you will lead this team to great things again. - Jim

The situation seems to be this to me....

Reid is the coach with final say on who plays and who doesnt. I truly believe he will put the guy out there that gives us the BEST chance to win. There are things that factor in of course, like your health number one, but also AJ's play. I know you're the starter, but you also want whats best for the Eagles, so I believe that you'll only be playing if you know you're capable of doing what you do at your best. Anything less wouldnt be fair to the squad. Our situation is good really, because it seems that Andy, AJ and you are all on the same page and know the roles each plays well.

It's not a controversey, which is media-derived, it's a decision that'll be made with the best possible info leading up to game time and the coach's feeling on both of you. Nevertheless, I believe we'll beat Seattle with D. The offense will be the icing on the cake.

Donovan - please listen to the intelligent fans of Philadelphia sports teams. YOU are the BEST QB the Philadelphia Eagles have EVER HAD. You have been to 5 pro bowls. You have helped your team to 4 NFC East titles (forgive me if it was more). YOU have led your team to the Super Bowl. Sometimes you have had "talent" around you - sometimes, not so much. You have been a total professional. You have played (and won!) on a broken leg, numerous injuries - all the while being the ultimate warrior. Philadelphia has a history of running its best and biggest stars out of town- unceremoniously. Only to pine for these ultimate warriors when they are shining brightly elsewhere (Iverson? Barkley? Cunnigham? Mike Schmidt? need I go on?) I love that you can (or seem to) block out the "noise and chatter" and focus on the positives and KNOWLEDGE that Coach Reid - who makes the decisions - KNOWS your worth - and KNOWS you're the best chance to win - PERIOD. I do not want to see you playing for any other NFL franchise other than The Eagles. You're MY GUY. You're the best - and PLEASE know that the fools who are chanting for an unproven rookie, and a career back up QB (however solid Feely may be in the Eagles' offense - had YOU thrown 3 picks in that game- we know how the media would have reacted) are not the true fans and students of the game. D-Mac, I totally agree, the entire team played a great game. From JJ's almost perfect defensive
scheme to Reids gutsy calls during the first half. The game was as you said, "bittersweet". I don't care if we lost we moved in a major positive direction. This is the team I knew we were all season long. Forget the haters out there ruining on what the Eagles need to build on from the great game against the Pats. Also another problem is the media. They blow everything out of the water and it seems like the media there in Philly influences the fans so much. It's really sad!!! I'm not tooting my own horn but, I have always been a positive fan though the good and the bad and I believe it's because I don't live in Philly. Just to keep things in perspective, the 1999 Rams and the 2007 Patriots games were absolutely incomparable. The only reason the Eagles won in '99 was because the Rams had nothing to play for. Using the first half as a playoff tuneup, they rested all their players (Marshall Faulk, Kurt Warner, Isaac Bruce, etc.) after halftime.. Yes Jim Johnson masterfully held QB Jamie Martin and the 2nd stringers to 31 points, most of which were scored by the 1st team. Quite similar to the 2004 Eagles situation vs the Rams and Bengals.

It's a relief not to live in Philly in between Eagles' games. All that WIP banter about starting AJ, it is a joy to live in the heartland of the AFC West and avoid the moronic blathering that passes as sports talk in Philadelphia. I have to listen to it coming from my own family and it is an embarrassment. Donovan is the best quarterback this team has had in over 40 years. What committed fan would not want to see him finish what he started----I have read Donovan's history and it sounds like he has been used to this type of abuse for a long time. The only way he wins is if he wins it all. If he would have had Feeley's night of passing he would be slammed by the same media that is begging for AJ. That 2nd interception would have been another nail in the coffin and not an unfortunate decision after a respectable night of passing. Explain to me how he wins?

people in this town allow the media to dictate to them who they should and should not like. AJ had a good game but if it was McNabb and he throw 3 ints, 2 of them were very costly, DMAC would have got ripped by the media. Even when the Eagles beat the Skins, all the media would talk about is how many bad throws McNabb had. This town doesn't not deserve a player like McNabb, and if the players are only going to play hard for the backups, then maybe McNabb should leave and go to a team that really wants to win and not be just competitive for the sake of making a profit.
There's a new rumor that McNabb would be traded to Brad Childress' Vikes, this would be a great fit for Donovan. They have the awesome Adrian Peterson and a solid defense, while teams are trying to stop Peterson, McNabb can throw down the field all day! Minnesota would love McNabb and give him the respect he deserves.
Stop trying to please fans that are brainwashed by the media, get healthy and request a trade to the vikes or the bears who really need a QB too. I have worn your jersery for 4 years and it still looks like new, and if you go to the vikes, I'll get that jersery too. Ryan Howard has the same problem, soon as he was in a slump, the media wanted him traded for pitchers because the phillies have Utley and they believe he's the better player, so they don't need Ryan Howard. This is the mindset you are up against....get out while you can!

For whatever reason, you're performance isn't as good as it used to be in the 2000-2004 seasons. You made recievers like Todd Pinkston, James Thrash, and TO (Yeah I said it) better.
That 2004 season you were on top of your game, with and WITHOUT TO. I honestly think your injuries hamper you and its hard for you to recover, not so much in your scrambling ability but in your ability to deliver the pass ontime, where it needs to be. Espically this season, the way I can describe you is just.. off.
I'm not hatin tho, I hope you get healthy and get it all clickin' again cause really you're like one of my Fav atheletes (It helps that I've been an Eagles fan) from a person standpoint. Hell who else posts on a Blog, espically with the Drama you've been facing. You even responded via video to some of them on You Tube, thats awesome.
Anyway, Get healty and get your job back from A.J. We can still make the playoffs. ((Lol, why do us fans always say "We", like we're on the team?))

Just wanted to say I think you need to get back to havin fun out there when ur playing. The last couple of years, you don't seem to be having any fun on the field or off. You used to always smile all the time during the games, during the press conferences, on the sideline. Now you just seem stressed and tight all the time. Don't worry about what the fans think becuase you'll have a place to play regardless of if its in Philadelphia or not and you and your family are set for life. Get back to havin fun and the play on the field will take care of itself.

Philadelphia wanted AJ, now they can have him. 4 ints in the seattle/eagles....4 INTS!!! Once again the media's favorite QB threw a int with the game on the line in the fourth quarter. Please McNabb stay on the sidelines and let the media's favorite QB run the team into the ground, there's a reason he didn't do so well in Miami and now those morons pretending to experts see it. Do not risk a career ending injury for a city that doesn't want you here and the networks who's playing "Rocky" music for a QB who threw 4 ints in a game! They played "Rocky" music for Garcia and now AJ, how come they don't play it for McNabb??? You have nothing to prove McNabb by trying to win in this city, let the media have their QB and you get healthy and then get out of this godforsaken town! Watch Minnesota McNabb, they only need a QB to a be SuperBowl representative for the NFC, you could be that QB. So tell the trainer that you are still in pain and let AJ play, when the media questions your health when just ask them....I thought you said I was washed up and that AJ would give up the eagles the best chance to win? Please McNabb stay on the sideline because you have nothing to prove this city or the media or the players who are jealous of you because you got a big contract and they didn't.

AJ threw 4 picks and still lead the offense to 24 points. Something Mcnabb has done twice this season in 10 starts. AJ did it twice in two starts and don't forget one of them was against the pats where he also threw 3. Qb's who take shots down field throw pics. You'd be surprised what GREAT QB's you would find on the list of "who threw 4 picks in one game' peyton manning just to name one is on that list. Anyway QB's who arent scared and throw 1 yard passes to the same player over and over just to get the ball out of thier hands don't take shots and don't throw picks. QB's who arent scared take shots, give the recievers a chance to put in work and come down with a ball and a big play. Don't knock AJ when he can lead an offense to 24 points with 4 turnovers whilst Mcnabb Can't! AJ had 8 games in miami and has been a backup. The man took starter reps like 10 weeks of his entire career and you want to knock him becuase he doesn't come out and automatically look like Joe Montana. Don't get me wrong AJ is not the answer in Philly, but neither is Mcnabb. The sooner Reid and the front office recognize the sooner Eagles fans could have a chance at seeing playoffs again.

  ummm, those short passes are an essential part of the west coast offense. if you don't like the eagles offensive style, blame the coaches.
  i guarantee you mcnabb wouldn't have made those crucial errors to lose two games. mcnabb is too smart to throw long on third and short. AJ is playing for a starting position, and taking risks he shouldn't take. garcia was a much better sub because he came in and managed the game to win - he didn't try and thread the needle over and over again.
  the bottom line is that no QB can be great at philly until the team actually invests in a consistently great receiver, and stops trying to find a bargain.

mcnabb IS the philadelphia eagles. he's the reason i became an eagles fan in the first place. the man gets no respect after everything he's done. to say that he is underperforming is outrageous, he was heroic to come back as soon as he did. everybody needs to get behind him and be patient. he'll be back to his old form soon enough, and if the management would just stop pinching pennies and get us an elite receiver (as well as an actual kick returner), mcnabb could take the eagles pretty far next year.
on the other hand, if the fans and management want to chase out one of the best players in philly history, let them take the blame next year when we watch mcnabb win the nfc title with whatever team we trade him to.

McNabb, this guy is the perfect example as to why you should leave this town, people like him will be the last to acknowledge all the great things you accomplished as a QB on this team, but will remember in detail every bad throw you made. He will tell you that AJ is Rocky because he's not afraid to stay in the pocket and take the big hit while throwing a int at the end of the each game! People like Gameslayer make me sick, you can have AJ, you two have alot in common, he's ints at the end of games are just as stupid as Gameslayer defending AJ by comparing him to Peyton! At least the next few postings made sense. We do need a receiver that defenses will respect. Kurtis is good but no one respects him, so they don't double team him. That makes it harder for Brown to get open. Brown needs a top receiver on the other side to get open to be successful.

On a sad note...word is that McNabb will play against the giants, I'd rather he sit and let GameSlayer's AJ Feeley run the team into the ground. If AJ starts and throws 6 ints then who will he be compared to then...Dan Marino???

I understand the message GETusJUST1, but if the eagles will not bring in a playmaker WR then why bother risking a injury playing with average WRs. Each time McNabb had a playmaker WR, the offense was ranked 1# (Stallworth) and 2# (Terrell Owens). So isn't it obvious that McNabb needs a playmaker WR like what Brady has (Moss), Palmer (Johnson) and Peyton (Harrison), why is it that some of the blind fans in this city do not see the obvious and claim that McNabb can't run this offense when he is dealt a bad hand this season, plus he's playing hurt and the players do not rally for him because he's the one who got the big contract while everyone else gets nickel n' dimed. It's a bad situation for McNabb to be in and be successful on this team. That's why it's best that he leaves and go to Minnesota!

But I understand your thoughts GETusJUST1 so you get a "Thumbs up" from me.

Donavan, you're the greates QB in the NFL, you're just on the worst coached team.
Your day is coming, and I'm really only aneagles fan, but the experts, I can't believe what they said, especially Didinger, I thought at least he knew.
And not to put AJ down, but he's a backup, if there's a great team around him, he can fill in, and that's it, he's a backup.
But you're the man. If you played in NE, you would have three super bowls, maybe four.
It's a shame philadelphia fans don't know shit about football. They'll realize it when you're gone (I still hold ut hope you stay), but I have to suffer as fan if you go, and I'm so disgusted with football now..
Anyway, we live in the same area, maybe we'll get a chance to shake hands sometime. It would be my honor

I have never posted here before, but I just had to make a quick comment. It disturbs me when the so called "experts" are saying you won't be in Philly next year. You are the eagles Franchise quarterback, and that is why you are the starter, and should be for years to come. Everyone seems to forget so quickly how you, the couches and your teammates have turned the Eagles franchise into one of the winingest teams since 2000. I am just like the next fan, I want to see us win every week, and when we don't I'm disappointed. But that's the nature of the game. Just know that there are alot of eagles fans out here that want you too stay in Philly. I became a fan when I saw you play at Syracuse and you beat Army when they came into the carrier dome undefeated. I've been a fan since and couldn't have been more excited when the Eagles drafted you in 99. So keep your head up and know that allot of people are pulling for you and want you to stay in Philly!

Glad to see that there are some fans out there that recognize that poor playcalling is the problem not DMac. Westbrook told Mahe to sit down because he was going to return the punt, Reid didn't even know Westbrook was doing the punt return. Reid then yanked Westbrook out, and he wasn't in the plays leading up to the int, almost as if Reid punished him for doing the punt return, which cost the birds the game. I guess Reid thought punishing Westbrook was more important then winning the game...huh?

I have been and EAGLES FAN FOREVER- through the good times and bad. Donovan is a WINNER and a class act on and off the field! I just hope some of our fans don't drive him away. They have a very short memory..and I guess have forgotten all those years bofore Donovan and that team took us to the Super Bowl!!! He hasn't had really decent receivers to throw to since TO left (good riddance). Donovan, you are the man....GO EAGLES!!
