Let's Celebrate

What a weekend it was for Philadelphia sports fans. Let's start with the Phillies. They are on the verge of winning the World Series. I was at the game last night and had a chance to speak with Ryan Howard and Jimmy Rollins. They are so close and very ready to make it happen for all of us in Philly. One more win - tonight in Philadelphia would be nice - and the 25 year drought comes to an end. The Flyers won their first game of the season, taking two from the Devils. And we came back from the bye with a nice performance against the Falcons (it's nice to have Brian Westbrook back on the field!). We have a lot to celebrate in Philadelphia. A friend sent me this recently. Maybe you can help... Mayor Michael Nutter announced a new city-wide fundraiser set for October 28th to raise money and awareness for the Philadelphia Police Department and The Philadelphia Lodge 5 Survivor's Fund. Philadelphia Blue Day was created in an effort to support the Philadelphia Police Department and The Philadelphia Lodge 5 Survivor Fund. The fundraiser has already generated support from several prominent local restaurants, including The Water Works Restaurant and Lounge. On October 28th participating locations will donate 10% of their sales from that day to support the Philadelphia Lodge 5 Survivor Fund. It must have been a fantastic weekend for philly fans. well, since boston is out, i hope that the phillies do win to end the 20+ years drought. It will be nice to see Philly in the Superbowl again too. Maybe against my beloved Pats! Good luck on everything and Please shrink the Giants at every game!!!!!!!!!!!

I love all the local charities you support or involve yourself in. Great job Sunday. I'm excited for the rest of the season...one game at a time. And I can't wait for the Phillies game tonight. But how about another Pennsylvania team - the Penn State Nittany Lions?!?! I've heard people compare Daryll Clark to you. What a compliment! Great to see you positive again.

If I weren't in Atlanta, I would definitely participate in the Philadelphia Blue Day. Especially after what happened to Jennifer Hudson's family. I know that touched a nerve with you being a family man and a native of Chicago. Anyhow, great win! Don't take so long running the ball next time. It occurred to me very early in the 1st quarter that we could 'gash' them with the run and then the pass. Keep it rolling '5'!

Good game over the weekend. We really showed Matt Ryan how Philly does it. Good luck to you the rest of this season. By the way, DeSean better be keeping his attitude in check, we DON'T want or need another T.O. do we?

5, I thought that was great when you read the line up at the phillies game, I seen the game before you ddin't want on tv. We love to see you on and so do the phillies, WE ARE ONE BIG FAMILEY HERE IN PHILA. I hope the phillies do the same when the eagles are in the playoff and super bowl, and I am sure they will. First off GREAT GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Again you are not a surpirse to be such a class act. Thanks for supporting the officers in Philly. I used to be an officer in Philly and I worked 5 years in some of the worst projects in the city. Lost some good friends from the dept over the years, and still have many friends working there. Now I am here in AZ. I really appreciate you taking the time to mention this fund, and putting your support behind it! hey Don kick Seattles ASS!

Die-hard Eagles fan in the middle of Oklahoma! I was lucky and saw McNabb and the team beat the 49er's at Candlestick a few weeks ago. It was absolutely AWESOME to finally see my favorite team in person surrounded by fellow Eagles fans!!! I know with McNabb, Westbrooke, Curtis, etc. all healthy, the Eagles can make it to the Super Bowl this season. I can't wait!

Although I'm no resident of Philadelphia I want to congratulate the city & its fans for what they have in store to come; congrats on a nice sports weekend with the Phillies winning & our Eagles beating the Falcons & with Penn State still undefeated & getting that huge win in Ohio State, no small feat there. I'm not a fan of baseball whatsoever but I'm glad to see a Philadelphia team 3 innings away from capturing the gold, personally I think its very good karma for the rest of the city & states teams (Eagles & Penn State). Again congrats to you fans that actually live there, I'm from Arkansas but have always been a diehard Eagles fan and will continue to be but I wanted to give kudos & my best wishes to the Phillies tonight! Go Eagles this weekend in Seattle! Go Phillies! Soon to be World Series Champions!

Donovan, nice game. It was definitely scary in the beginning, but when you got going, you were HOT!! I'm glad that you were able to connect with various players to ensure movement down the field and continuous play. Unfortunately, there seems to be no confidence in getting into that endzone once the Eagles hit the 10 yard line. What's up with that?? Again, just too many opportunities wasted on easy points to incerase the lead and prepare for the fight of next weekend against the Giants! I know that this is the third straight win and the team is gellin'; but we can't continue to lose those opportunities. Great job overall, not a nice-looking win, but a win nonetheless. Get some rest, get prepared and lead the team to another victory The Phillies brought it home and the Eagles can too!
