Ready, Set, Action

I wish I had something positive to share to take your minds off of Sunday night. Like any Eagles fan, I am upset about the outcome of the game. Earlier this year I asked that we not dwell on a loss after a day or two, and start focusing on the next game. I ask that you do that again. I ask not to absolve us from losing - nothing can change that fact. We met as a team, went over the film and hope to learn from our mistakes. I have been asked a few times after a loss what happened? what went wrong? I truly wish I could put my finger on it so I can prevent it from happening again. I hope that others see our situation as I see it - we have enough talent in our locker room to be a winning team. We certainly have our backs against the wall. We have to come out fighting from start to finish. I need to get into a rhythm early and stay in that groove till the final whistle ... we all do. I don't expect this blog to do anything other than share my thoughts with you. These are just words. I need to put them into action.

I'll tell you what went wrong-poor coaching. Not to take anything away from the Giants, they are a great team. But how many games have the Eagles won in clutch situations under this coach? I'm no coach and I totally predicted the play on 4th down. The playcalling is totally predictable. YOU need to take over. Be more vocal with your coach, or looking at a bleak rest of the season. The fans will put you on their backs if you take over 5! What do you have to lose at this point?

  Don should have taken off at least 5-6 times against the bengals. They were playing so soft and he had lanes. I just don't ubderstand how he doesn't use his talent. Especially when the passing game is not working, try something else, break the pocket and pick up tree or four firsts with legs. Don always said he didnt want to be known as a running qb. I never thought he was compared to Vick. He always looked to pass then run. I know he is still has the ability to run but he opts not to..makes no sense.

How can any true Eagles fan sit here and blame Donovan for any of our losses this season? He puts us into position to win the games at the end and what happened 3 out of the 4 losses? The coach takes the ball out of his hands and we cant get the 1 or 2 yards that we need. Against the Bears we have first and goal at the 1. We got down there with Donovan, and we run 4 straight running plays. STUFFED. GAME OVER. Against the Skins, we have 3rd and 1 on the 3. One yard gets us a first and goal to have a chance to go in for the winning touchdown. We got to the 3 with Donovan throwing the ball. What happens? 2 running plays....STUFFED. GAME OVER. Donovan takes us in for the score against the Giants on the previous posession to move within 5. We get the ball back and he takes us to the 40 after starting at the 15. We need 2 yards on 3rd down. What happens? we run the ball...STUFFED. GAME OVER. How can any blame be placed upon Mcnabb? THe coach is making horrible decisions at the end of games....Donovan has to feel helpless when they're making him just turn and hand the ball off in these crunch time situations. Put the ball in the hands of the man that got you down the field to begin with. THREE GAMES NOW THIS HAS HAPPENED. The difference between 8-1 and 5-4. Stop the run and get off the field on 3rd down on defense, and let someone....ANYONE other than Andy call the plays. At least if its crunch time and we need a yard or two. We're possibly 3 yards away from being 8-1. Just unacceptable. And for any fan who blames Donnie Mac for any of our downfalls this season.....thats also unacceptable and you must not be watching for what the real problems are.

    this is dumb. suggesting that your star qb go against the coach and call his own plays will do the exact opposite of what you want. they will get rid of donovan for going against the coach and keep reid.

      If Reid knew what he was doing I think we'd have a little better record. These calls are horrible, I can't imagine what is going through his mind when he makes them.
      When he does come up with a play that works, i.e. the DJax play, he abandons it. What's up with that??

    Um not sure why Spotella is getting a negative thumbs down on his/her comment; I am one of if not Donovan's biggest supporter & fan but I tend to agree to an extent on this point. I'm not saying that Donovan should go against Andy Reid but there should be some sort of setup where McNabb can & should change the play at the line of scrimmage, period! Just cause the play is sent in from the sidelines doesnt mean HEY JUST CALL DA PLAY! I mean the Qbs whose team's have won the SB in this day & age are the ones that are audibling at the line of scrimmage, taking command of the game & making da tough call during da game ya know?! Hello?! I think Brady, both Mannings and whoever else has won has had da QB making adjustments & audible at da line of scrimmage. Fact is, da reason they let & trust these guys do this is cause they know these guys are da ones staring the defense straight in da eyes, so of course why wouldnt I as a coach trust my star QB whose obviously been with me for 10 years and have led my team to da SB before change da play if need be? Ya know? At some point Spotella is right, this team will go nowhere unless McNabb start making the adjustments on da spot, it shouldve happened last Sunday night. Everyone watching that game knew that damn playcall, think da Giants did too?

I admire you for coming out and admitting that everyone has to step up. But lets face it. When you score 31 points; you should win the game. Our defense; or the way it was put together; can't stop the run when it counts. Our defense; or the personel on it; can't stop the pass when it counts. That is the reason our record is 5-4. I think that this team is heading for another 8-8 season; and the sad part is no one really seems to care except for the fans. Management had all offseason to improve short yardage personel; they came up with Lorenzo Booker. No run stoppers either. We just heard guys need to step up. What if these guys are stepping up as far as they're capable of. Too bad Donovan McNabb; you have to waste your first healthy season in years.

Geez, the way you guys are responding to this, you'd think this was some huge collapse. Yeah, we lost, that doesn't mean we're having some major meltdown. We're still a serious threat, we're still better than the cowboys (yeah, we lost to them, but come on) and we've still got a run to the playoffs. When those start, its a new season. Give the guys a freaking chance here. We're only halfway through the season.

You haven't been in a rhythm early in these last few games. But what bothers me more than that is the terribly play-calling and the run defense. The Eagles offense scored 31 points in that game. That should be enough. But the defense wasn't stopping anything. And the play-calling is just inexcusable. I called that play, and so did every other Eagles fan - and that is sad.

Super-5, I'm with you 100%. We need to move forward and try and make the playoffs. The NFC East is a tough division. The loss was difficult, but that was last Sunday. This Sunday we need to get back on the winning track.

Donovan, I completly trust you and am behind you 100%. I too am sad and dissapointed as an Eagles fan now, but i'm not giving up. I will never stop cheering and rooting for the Philadelphai Eagles. I love them too much to jump to another team. It just wouldn't be the same. I believe we still have a playoff run ahead of us. It's going to be tough, but if we fix the playcalling and the Run D then we will be just fine. D-Mac, just keep doing what you do. Lets get this thing rolling now. Lets kill Cinci. Go Eagles!!

The Eagles are my team, but if you leave...I'll be watchin buddy. you are an awesome QB and a great person. so much more then the people who want u off this team know. this loss was tough, everyone knows this. it looks like our chances are gonna be really slim to make the playoffs but i know youre not gonna give up cuz thats not u. i like the way u acknowledge your faults at times because its easy to point the finger but ur better than that. youre a real class act man i admire that alot.

This team is so obviously not built for pounding out short yardage,so why do they insist on proving it at the worst possible times.If the just execute what they do extremely well.they get first downs,continue the drive,and have a real chance to beat the Giants.We are now in the position of having to win six of our last seven games to have a shot at the playoffs,and while we're at it a couple of wins in the conference would be really nice.

Hi, long time fan, first time blogger/commenter. I can understand why you would write such a post. But come on its Philly we love our sports teams. When things don't go well, out of frustration we give you guys the business . However, when it does go well, well... they flip cars. Even though Sunday night's game left a sour taste in our mouths, there's no reason why you have to be apologetic or explain ish to us. Seriously I think the team was great at times during the game and lackluster at others. However no matter what I can't speak for everyone else but I bleed green, and I stand behind you and the squad 110%. not to hate on K. Kolb but the only way we'll win a superbowl is with you as the QB. Another thing is I think you should be making the play calling during the two minute drill. not the coaches. Seasons isn't over yet, I can't wait for cowboys/skins/g-man part deux, so you can light them up.

This is a tough, tough loss, no question. I was looking forward to this game all week and feeling very optimistic. The loss put a real damper on the rest of the week. What's done is done though and like Donovan said, it's time to move on. If the Eagles have a chance to save this season, it needs to start now. I have no question in my mind that they can do it. Pick your head, learn from Sunday's mistakes and get ready for the Bengals. One game at a time, keep moving forward. I have faith.

donovan week after week we see andy ried screw up and sometimes it ends in wins other times it just doesnt happen.... I'm still supporting you because you happend to be my favorite QB and I still think that with the right situation you can be the best QB in the league but as the games pass by I am really drifting away from that friend... I know you'll win Sunday because the Bengals would loose to USC if they played em.. Get in the playoffs and do what the giants did last year

Donovan, you played your heart out on Sunday and the fans can't ask more than that from you. The loss was a huge disappointment, but you did everything you could as the QB. To me, all these close games show how much the front office messed up by A. Trading the #1 pick B. Not getting a real #1 WR C Not Trading for someone strong this year (Tony Gonz. / Roy Williams) Any one of those things possibly could have been a difference maker for this team. You are a great QB, and we're lucky to have you in Phila.!

Donovan, That was a tough loss against the Giants, but I know we have what it takes to win games!! Let's start off by beating the Bengals next week and taking one week at a time!! We are still in it with the NFC East being so close and we just can't give up!! I wish everyone would just show our support for the team and stop being so negative!! You are still the best QB and I love watching you play!! Just stay healthy and go out and play your best - that is all we can ask for - Keep the Faith and don't let the negative comments get to you!! They will be praising you again when we are back to winning!! At least we will be playing them again in December to get our revenge and kick some NFC East butt!! D Mac, I appreciate the honesty that you show in your posts. It's like we're talking right to you and that's pretty cool. Anyways, I've always liked Andy Reid. I like his calm and no nonsense demeanor. But ever since that Chicago game, I can't understand why he doesn't put the game in your hands when it's on the line. Too me, you got the wheels, so the other team's got to respect that, not only that, but you also got the arm, so they gotta respect that too. You're one of the stars, the bedrock franchise player, so why don't Andrew, let you do, what you do? You feel me?

The most important thing to do right now is keep focused. There are a lot of winnable games remaining this season--and once we get in the playoffs, anything can happen. Seriously though, this team needs our support--we have to get to the playoffs and then see where all this talent can get us. We CAN win a Superbowl with this team.

A few years ago our Quarterback asked for a #1 WR. The result: The SUPERBOWL.
Again, Wilma and Sam didn't raise an idiot.
Now is not the time to rebuild the team or trade OUR Quarterback.
Now IS the time for the coach to loosen the reigns and give McNabb some real say.
Shanahan did it for Elway and the result: 2 SUPERBOWLS.

wats up 5?! I am emotionally drained from this regime. Meaning Reid and staff. I have watched the eagles since the late 80's and have been a die hard through the good times and bad times. I agree with you that we do have enough talent. However, the captain of the ship does not utilize the talent the way he should. I am so sick and tired of his lame its my fault. My question to him would be if your left tackle gave up 5 sacks a game for three seasons in a row and reid asked him whats goin on? and his response was "i have to get in a better position" "i have to do a better job" "I take the blame". My guess is that Reid would cut him. As a result, instead of takin the blame, he should finally do something about it! Week in and week out you guys are getting out coached. You and Jim Johnsons defense carried this team in the early 00's. I really feel bad for you, bwest, tra, runyan, bdawk...players who arent in they're first couple of years, because as long as he is the coach we are not going to be good enough. And he is right it is his fault!

It seems to me like your receivers aren't reading the defenses right. Is that a communication thing or what? I see pressure in the pocket and receivers running with their back to the ball. 0-3 in the division doesn't look good either.

I have much love and respect for you and consider you as a top QB in the league. However, your words this week are just not enough. I sat at home and screamed at the television when the two running plays were called; you passing should have been the ONLY option. It has been great to see you pass the ball long, to run some yards, to really take advantage of your time in the pocket and review the field for the best play. But can you just call the necessary play sometimes??? I know that AR is the head coach, but we need your leadership on the field and lately at the time that we are so close, AR's calls keep us from the win. We need someone on the team to step up! If it is not going to be AR, please D - please let it be you. This is our best opportunity to get a ring. The game was locked down last year, but the field is so open and wouldn't it be great to get the ring on year 10? Know that I got much love for you and the Eagles but you all are breaking my heart. As the only female in my office that knows the sport, Monday was hard (Eagles you owe me)! Good luck on Sunday. Stay focused and healthy and do what the world is waiting for... for you to PLAY YOUR FOOTBALL GAME!

The season already looks bleak. Every eagles fan can get on here point the finger to a number of people for the losses. But what we all need to realize that even in those close games when the play calling was predictable the coaching staff and play callers were just doing what every eagles fan has been screaming for..... In clutch situations we have to put the ball in our play makers hands. We have done that. It is just unfortunate that our playmakers have not come through. So at 5-4 and 0-3 in the division I think it's time to forget the pressures of what this team needs to do to make the playoffs. As the chances of that happening is no longer in the hands of the eagles. Yes we could still go 5-3 in the division and 12-4 overall, but the biggest problem with this team is I think that the expectations we as fans, and the expectations of the players has put too much pressure on the team and the coaching staff to win. It's time to just go out on the field and have fun. This team has always performed much better when everyone on both sides of the ball just goes out on the field to have fun and enjoy what they do. When this team made all those NFC title runs, and the push to the super bowl I noticed one big difference between then and now. Everyone was having fun on the field enjoying doing what the rest of the NFL didn't expect them to be able to do. So please take your job seriously but on sundays just go out there and play ball have fun and leave it all on the field. It just seems like everyone is putting too much pressure on each other to win. We all know what kind of talent this team has. So to Mr. Ried.... The NFL knows what you are going to do in each and every situation. Do what made you so successfull in your early career at Philly. Be unpredictable!! When was the last we saw an onside kick to start a game? When was the last time we saw a double reverse on 4th and 1? When was the last time have we seen the famous complicated west coast crossing routes with McNabb rolling right or left deep into the redzone? This offense is based on deception. We just arn't decieving anyone anymore with our more standard and traditional playcalling. All becuase it has gotten to serious and not fun.

Need to start stepping into those passes. I'm sure you watched the film of you throwing off your back foot or off balance and it's not working.

Step through the pass and you will see huge dividends.

Now that we've learned from the play calling mistakes, I believe we can move forward and claim a spot in the playoffs. GO EAGLES! GO #5!

The Eagles have showed that they can't stop the run. Even if they correct the playing calling mistakes;they are still in trouble. In order to make the playoffs;they would have to win all the remaining games in the NFC east;which I don't see happening;because every team has a strong running game. Second;they have proven that they don't have the ability to pull out a close game verses good competition. Wishful thinking aside;this season is done as far as making the playoffs.

Andy Reid is not a terrible coach, he's just not a coach that I believe will win a Super Bowl. At risk of sounding repetitive, his play calling is predictable and for the most part ineffective when it matters. All I have to say is why not keep what was working??? Dmac was playing wonderfully, keep the ball in his freakin hands!!! Especially when he's been playing so well!!!! I love this team and I think you're the quarterback that deserves to win the superbowl for your team and for your fans!!!! Go super 5!!!!! and go EAGLES!!!!

Donovan,

My heart and appreciation go out to you, as always, whether we win or lose. But there are 2 keys to that loss, and I'm sure this is exactly what the team discussed, but then again, maybe not.

1. The RUN D, which has nothing to do with you, was atrocious. How does JJ not make mid-game adjustments, load up the box, and count on our premier corners to make plays in the passing game? Not to mention the pressure that would be associated with that. The RUN D needs HELP and it's likely just scheme. I know the guys are capable, we are top 5 in the NFC against the run.

2. PLAY-CALLING- on 3rd and 3 with the game on the line, wouldnt you have wanted a shotgun 3WR 2RB set that would give you plenty of options at all levels, low, mid, and deep? OR if it were to break down, you could fall forward for 3, and you know that. The 4th and 1 call I dont disagree with. Its important that Andy shows confidence in our guys at home, with the game on the line, to WILL that 1 yard. Having a premier back like BWEST helps too of course. The real screw-up was the 3rd and 3. YOU PASS there. Your second half was on fire. It was beautiful to watch man.

Like you said, its all Cincy now. We gotta go in there with no mercy, no complacence, and simply blow out an inferior team. I like us in this game 31-13. We are better all-around and should dominate the LOS on both sides.

Good luck D-Mac, I'm not one of those who doesnt want you and/or Andy here anymore. Im one of those fans who knows we havent reached our full potential yet, and we DO have enough to win now. It's a matter of a few 4th quarter plays in all 4 losses. Whereas the Giants BEAT us, we beat ourselves against DAL, WSH, and CHI. That's no secret to those who watched the games. For the haters, get some film and study it.

GO BIRDS!!!! I got faith in you D-Mac, you are the man we need here, to be on point and smiling.

The Game Sunday showed that we need to get more out of tight-end position(utilize Celik), Curtis(receiver)cannot create opening space, full-back position needs upgrade, Dawkins continually gets picked on and beaten in open field, Running game has to be used more often with Donavan used for one yard pick-ups, Time for Coach Reid to step back from play calling and Donavan needs to Audible more if disagrees with play calling and Team to Stop passing on first round draft pick with all the Talent defiencies that now exist...........

If you think this team has enough talent to win then I don't know what you are looking at. Outside of Desean Jackson there are no receivers that can get open and make a big play and LJ Smith drops more passes than he catches. What I am missing? Do Kevin Curtis and Reggie Brown strike any fear into opposing defenses. As long as you play the San Francisco's, the Bengals, the Seahawks and the other dregs of the NFL they can put up big numbers but against legit teams they suck. So stop fooling yourself into thinking this team has enough talent to win and stand up to your coach and tell him to get a stud playmaker on offense and stop being a wuss and going along with anything your coach says or does. Express an opinion. If I disagree with a decision my boss makes I will bring it to his attention. You can do it a non threatening way. But just sitting back and being Andy's yes man isn't getting the job done.

I am kind of doubting that you are going to watch it, so I will give you a quick synopsis. #1-Your new name is Donovan the Assasin. You have got to get the killer instinct. No more Mr. Nice Guy. You have to be Bi-polar. When you are in civilian clothes, you can be as nice as you want, and I respect you for that, but when you put on #5, you are Donovan the Assasin. Show no mercy. #2 Get the "Give me the damn ball" mentality. No way you should be handing the ball to Westbrook on 3rd an 3 and 4th and 1. You are the man. Demand the damn ball in those situations. I know you are a fan of Michael Jordan. Ask yourself what he would have done in that situation. I will tell you what he would have said, "Give me the damn ball." #3- Don't be afraid to fail. If you are, you will choke. Give it your best every play, and play with a sense of urgency, no matter what the score. I want to see you in the Hall of Fame when you retire. I think you are going to need a championship to get there. Good luck, except when you play the Cowboys.

D5...just finished watching the last 3 games again....love NFL Ticket w/ DVR...everytime you drop your throwing arm the linebackers virtually freeze and your Z route is wide open...more importantly all the routes open up the next two series after you run the ball at least once...see Atlanta 3rd Qtr and Sea 4th Qtr...also you stepped into the pocket more as the LBs were more hesitant to shoot the gaps and the passes were delivered high and tight...wish you luck...let's go birds

I agree with alot of what is being said here.Bottom line is WE ARE PREDICTABLE.With all the talent we have on this football team we don`t have a creative play caller.At the beginning of the season I thought we lacked alot of depth,but I was wrong.We have a good group of guys on our team.A superbowl caliber team if we are coached right.I feel sorry for Andy,with everything going on in his life the game has passed him by.I still think he is a good coach,but until his son`s come home from prison,he won`t be in a football state of mind.I am still hoping for the playoffs,come on philly fans lets get behind our eagles and cheer them on and not tear then down.

This is not about hating at all, but out of frustration that Donovan is not (and has never been) an elite QB who can take the Eagles to the next level. As an Attorney here in Philadelphia who's been out of Law School for 4 years and lived here for all of my 28 years, it is ESPN and SI Analysts who repeatedly have noted that #5 has not achieved being a franchise QB nor is he ranked among the Top 5 NFL QB's, in fact not even close. Donovan has an awful 1-4 record in NFC Championship/Super Bowl Games, and an 0-3 NFC East Division record this year, having consistently lost the big division and non-division games for years now. I'm reluctant to admit that T>o> was right about Donovan a few years ago : if we had Brett Favre or one of the Mannings here in Philly, we'd have at least one Super Bowl Championship and maybe more. Again no disrespect intended, just honest frustration. Cincy will be a win this week and at 6-4 a Wild Card berth will be achievable. But can we really be satisfied with another 10-6 "one and done" playoff year?

  Look again smart guy. Donovan has never been one and done in the playoffs. In fact he has acheived a winning record in them. Really, Donovan has never been an elite quarterback?! Take Peyton, who aside from his one Super Bowl run, has been one and done a few times and put him in the offense Donovan led to 4 NFC Championships and a Super Bowl. He'd be shaking his head, slamming his hands against his helmet, blaming his o-line, and walking off the field a loser in the first round. Now put Mcnabb on any of those early exited Colts teams. How do you think they would have faired? Is there really anyone that can say that Mcnabb isn't a Championship away from being a Hall of Famer? i think it is amusing that Donovan is playing at the level he is and still being blamed and criticized, while the D-fense and Westbrook are clearly underperforming.

No rings, no coming up big in big games is and will forever be McNabb's legacy...the defense was the prime reason for a lot of his early-round playoff wins but he is not elite enough to have gotten the Eagles to the promised land. D-Mac, you are the best QB in Eagles franchise history (as stats will prove). The problem with the Eagles:
1) The offense is too stale and predictable. You need to trust your legs and run more, so it puts pressure on opposing defenses. If your receivers aren't open, don't force it. As you know, your receivers are leading the NFL in drops.
2) Our defensive front four needs to get more pressure on the QB. This will cause more sacks, fumbles, interceptions, you get the point.
3) The offensive play calling has to change. They need to mix more rushing plays in during the beginning of the game, and mix in Buckhalter with Westbrook. Put Lorenzo Booker in the slot. At the end of games, they need to put the ball in your hands, D-Mac.

If no one within the organization has the courage to challenge Andy Reid he will continue to do the same things.   I'm not criticizing his play as much as his overwillingness to go along with whatever Reid does. He has a mouth and can speak up if he disagrees with the playcalling or the personnel moves. Why say in the off season to get playmakers and then in the same breath say the team has enough talent to win. He's a hypocrite. He shouldn't say something he really doesn't believe. If he believes our receivers and our oft injured, slippery handed tight end with the initials LJ is good enough than he is a fool?

If I didn't care I wouldn't comment but I miss the Mcnabb that would pick up the yards by foot when his receivers weren't open. I miss the McNabb that would throw a deep pass 5-10 times a game. Your new trend of starting games by missing most of your first 10 passes is frustrating. I realize that Andy & Marty are having a terrible year at their job but a lot of this is you, too. Your O-line is giving you a lot of time to come up with something productive on almost every down. Please start doing something I used to refer to as "McNabb-like" when it was meant as a good thing.

Has McNabb ever looked at the NFL Standings in his life? There are three columns - W, L, T. Why would the T be there if a tie wasn't possible? When you look at MLB standings, there isn't a column for T. The same is true in the NBA. The NHL used to have a column for T. Now it's OL (Overtime loss). I don't even watch or care about the NHL. I would occassionaly look at the NHL standings years ago and the column for T always caught my eye.

Most people would take one look at the NFL Standings and wonder what the T is for, right? McNabb has played in several OT games in his 10 year career. You would think that he would have asked someone what happens if neither team scores in OT. If there's one player on the team who should know that a regular season game can end in a tie, it would be the QB who has been a starter in the NFL since 1999.

5 quarters and you could only lead the team to 13 points against an awful Bengals team that has Dhani Jones as MLB and an Ivy Leaguer at QB. Come on, D-Mac. You can never even admit when you have a bad game. You just smile when we lose and blame everyone else except for yourself. Yesterday you tried blaming the NFL because of their OT rules. The bottom line is that this is a very, very healthy team and you're still not getting it done.

I am willing to bet that if you saw Donovan on the street you would hide your face and run like a jerk. It is easy to be critical and say things when you hide behind the internet. Are you capable of criticizing Donovan McNabb? I don't think you can actually say anything negative about him. Judging by your picture, you already have a pair of b$lls.

This isn't a ninth grade football team. These are men. They can handle criticism. You keep telling McNabb that he's a great human being and that you support him no matter how poorly he plays this year.

I'll keep expressing my opinion. He played horribly and he should be embarrassed that he doesn't know basic rules of the NFL. I've always supported the Eagles. I'm not fond of the QB.

The purpose of this blog is for the fans to express their opinions. I'm sorry you can't handle it when you receive a few thumbs down. You're too sensitive. Just like our QB. Grow up. We are allowed to be critical of McNabb. He deserves it after the Bengals game. I'm sure even he would agree with that.

  I have no problem critizing anyone for their play. He had a poor game. The team had a poor game. They tied with the lowly Bengals. But for some of the crap that is posted is a waste of valuable brain cells that many lack. LOL and judging by my pic you can tell that I have testicles.. wow.. Really smart.   @Eagles2007.....Judging by the comment you left towards a FELLOW FAN wtf would you know about the ninth grade??? I stopped picking on people because the way they look WAY before the 9th grade.. Mcnabb didn't have a good game but it's hard to have good plays when they aren't being called! Hard not to throw interceptions when Curtis somehow forgot how to catch the ball.

    How many Eagles fans have described Andy Reid as fat? Is it wrong and immature if it's true? Don't you think Reid would agree that he's grossly overweight? You don't think he knows that he needs to lose at least 100 pounds? Don't you think that funkediva is aware of her inadequate appearance? Wait, beauty is skin deep, right? It's not about how pretty you are on the outside; it's what's in your heart that matters, right? Perhaps you're still in 7th grade.
    
    You're just a McNabb sycophant. Are you saying that McNabb didn't play poorly? The interceptions that he threw were his teammates fault? You obviously don't know anything about Pro Football. These are professionals. They accept responsibility for having bad games. Children blame others for their failure.
    
    McNabb had one of the worst games in his 10 year career and you're deflecting the blame. He should have had at least two more interceptions. He was misfiring on short passes, long passes, and just about every pass in the 4th quarter and OT. He received plenty of time to throw from his offensive line, tight ends, and running backs. He was playing against a 1-8 football team that was trying to give the game away, yet he failed to lead his team past midfield in the Eagles last 7 possessions.
    
    QB's receive the credit for winning and the blame for losing. Most McNabb fans would admit that he played a horrible game against the Bengals. You can't even do that. You believe that his teammates and coaches are responsible for his lousy performance. McNabb would have played better if Curtis didn't drop two passes and Reid had called better plays, correct? You're almost as ignorant as McNabb.
    
    McNabb himself said that he played poorly in the Bengals game. He didn't blame Kevin Curtis or Andy Reid. It's fair to blame Reid for calling two bad plays at the end of the Giants game. It's also fair to say that McNabb was the main reason the Eagles couldn't beat a 1-8 football team.

Donovan McNabb u have to MAN UP. You know the plays better the coaches do. You practice them, all they do is call them. You know how every last person on the team performs on every play. In clutch situations, it should be YOU making audibles, putting people in position to make plays. Your the captain and you know the plays. Yes Andy is the Head Coach. Yes, Marty is the Offensive Coordinator. But you are the leader of this team. BE ONE. Peyton Manning and Tom Brady are leaders. They also get treated like one, they get to pick their own plays. Why can't you? We know the type of quarterback you are. We have envisions on the one you should be. In 2003 that should have you hoisting up that Lombardi trophy not Tom. Let that fuel you fire and get this ship rolling again.

I'm glad the Phillies didn't listen to the FAIR WEATHER FANS when they were calling for Manuel to get fired and Howard to ride the bench for awhile!!! ...........I know A COUPLE of your passes were off last game but I did see ALOT of dropped passes and 2 of the interceptions had more to do with the wr and not the pass. I hope people have to eat their words about this team just like they had to do with the Phillies.

I was blocked as well. What a surprise. She started it with post 157. At least she finally got rid of that horrible picture. We did her a favor. I expect a "Thank You" in the next couple of weeks.

Here's a funny story about funkediva: She used to have pictures of another woman in her profile. This other woman was like 150 lbs. lighter, younger, and obviously more attractive. What kind of person posts pictures of someone else in their profile and pretends that it's really a picture of them? She only made things worse by posting her real picture.

Hey Donovan,
I know that you're probably going to catch a lot of grief this week, and I doubt you'll even read this, but I thought I'd give it a try.
I haven't been an Eagles fan for very long, but I know a rarity when I see one. This town, frankly, has been spoiled with you. The success you've brought to the Eagles is unlike anything in franchise history.
But enough about things you already know.
I can only speak from a fan's perspective, which has been a decidedly limited perspective over the last decade. That being said, you deserve better than how you're being treated. The media is going out for blood, but as always, you conduct yourself with class that makes you one of the most renowned players in the NFL. I, for one, hope you stay in Eagles green until YOU decide it's time to hang it up. Regardless of what anyone says, you are the heart of this team, and the Eagles NEED you.
Thursday will be my first Eagles game, and I can't wait to see you silence the skeptics.

I have waited on you several times. 1st my young brother I want to say Happy Birthday (mine is 11/27) and 2nd I just wanted to say I am nothing like most of these sorry ass fans in Philadelphia I am very apprecitive of all YOU and ANDYhave done for this city.
