Some Things I'm Thankful For

Today was my 33rd birthday and I'm so grateful for the many blessings I have received.

First of all, I have four great kids. That's right I said four. My beautiful 5-year old Alexis; my twins, Sariah and Donovan who turn one next week; and Devin James who was born last Friday night.

My wife, Raquel, whose beauty and strength I admire every day. My parents and brother who continue to be my strongest fans and my toughest critics!

My family pitched in tonight in a very big way. First of all, everything we do for the Donovan McNabb Fund is a group effort. But tonight, we really had some people help make a difference. One of our yearly goals is to help out some people around the holidays. Under Roxi's leadership, we have done that for many years. Well, with the baby being born this past weekend and our practice schedule getting ready for the Redskins, Roxi and I couldn't appear in person but had to count on a few people to help serve Thanksgiving Dinner to the families at Stenton Manor in Mt. Airy.

First off, my mother and father attended to let those in attendance know the entire McNabb family cares about them.

I must thank Danette James from Da-Network Housing who organized the event and got everybody on the same page. I also have to thank Sonny DiCrecchio and the Philadelphia Regional Produce Market for donating all the food. A special thanks go to the wives and families of some of my current and former teammates [Megan Brown (Reggie), Tammi Trotter (Jeremiah), Maggie Jean-Gillies (Max) and Loretta Runyan (Jon), and Cynthia Johnson (Darren Howard's mom)] who pitched in and served the food.

BTW - Congratulations to Jon Runyan. He signed with the San Diego Chargers yesterday and pledged to help them for the remainder of the season before retiring and seeking a career as a NJ Congressman.

Happy birthday DMAC. Im thankful for having the best QB in the NFC East and being able to watch the best QB in Eagles history since i was 9. But why didnt the eagles get runyan back with all of the injuries to the O-Line. didnt he want to stay near NJ because of his house?

You should be thankful you are still the starting QB for the Eagles. Why is it everytime you throw the ball in the dirt ( which is alot by the way), you think it's so funny? I can't wait for the Kolb era to being next season.

  No, i feel you monster, I don't really think these people that ask questions really think he will answer back...at least i hope not. I think alot of the times people just want to feel some kind of connection with the guy that they root for every Sunday. I've been on the Yard for a while too, and I comment on 5's posts (sometimes frustrated) but mostly just because i want to think he at least reads it. Funny thing though i was being a smartass one time and asked him the exact same question you just did haha. Congrats on the win against the Raiders yesterday, but I have to say I hope we put the beats on your 'Boys on my Birthday Jan. 3

  wholy crap your birthday is on a bad day lol.................i get what you mean about wanting to be able to talk to your favorite player,and thats exactly why he should either comment back or not have a blog at all.....i bet one comment from him would make someones day/week/month just because they chatted back and forth with there favorite player.....you guys defend him on this site on a daily basis,he should atleast talk to you guys.....but anyway thanks for the congrats on the dallas win,you're the total opposite of LATINbuttINFERNO who has been doing nothing but crying like a little girl since week 9..........good luck with the skins.

Thats only if romo knows how to turn the computer on...i dont know the pressure of his girlfriend standing behind him might make him fold and not know how to turn it on...since he cant turn her on

Dear Donovan,I'm 47and I absolutely look up to you as a person,and athelete.If any QB deserves a Superbowl ring,you absolutely do.BUT,even if it doesn't happen,it looks like you are happy,you have God in your life,you have an awesome family,alot of great friends,and like me,tons of strangers who really care about and love you.Not to sound like a broken record but you are,hands down the greatest QB to play the game.My only wish if I had one granted to me is when that day comes,where you realize you are not having fun at the game no longer,PLEASE retire and reside in the Phila. area and become a perminant part of our family.It really means alot to us fans.Heck,run for Mayor of Philadelphia ! Donovan, I'm a life long Philadelphia Sports fan who grew up in Chestnut HIll. I played college football and fully understand one person does not win a championship or lose it. I just wanted to say despite the difficult loss, how proud you have made me to be a Philadelphia Eagles fan. Our city is a difficult place to play, but the reason expectations are so high is due to your hard work and play on the field. Im very frustrated with our sports media and how they "spin" articles and question your ability to win the "big" game. There is NO question in my mind you will bring us a championship and there is NO other QB in the league I respect more. You have always carried yourself with poise and dignity, which is way more important in this life than winning super-bowls. Again Im frustrated that you receive criticism, but lets remember these are people who have never played organize football and have no idea what a "team" sport it is. Not every fan in philly is critical and most hope to see you here until your last snap....whenever that maybe. Good luck in the off season, prove these dopes wrong.
