Unfinished Business

I wish I was going to be wearing an Eagles uniform in Miami and not just an Eagles helmet. As a Pro Bowl alternate behind Brett Favre, Drew Brees, and Aaron Rodgers, I was made aware - although unofficially - I’m able to go since either Brett or Drew will be playing the following week in the Super Bowl. I’d gladly trade places with that guy.

I’m excited about playing in the Pro Bowl at the end of the month. I enjoyed the game in Hawaii each time I was fortunate to go. We have a nice representation of Eagles there and I look forward to being with my Philadelphia teammates. I like the camaraderie with many guys from around the league and the many events that the NFL puts on. Personally, I’d like to see how having the game a week before the Super Bowl and in the same city affects the game. I was a fan of the way it used to be.

Following the game I’ll stay in Miami for a few days and do some work at Super Bowl. After that, I’ll take a short break before getting ready for the 2010 season.

I know there is a lot of talk in Philadelphia about my future but please know one thing - when I came to Philadelphia it was to win a championship for the Eagles. Given the opportunity, I’d like to finish the job.

Donovan, Would just like to thank you for another awesome season. Although it ended on a low note, unlike most Philly Fans, I know that the Eagles lost as a team and it didn't come down to one person's mistakes. 5 idk if u read these or not or if u even care what we think (seeing as a lot of my fellow fans were dumb enough to never give u a chance) but if u do i want u 2 know that since u got drafted you have been my hero i wanted to grow up and be like #5 (and with the exception of the fact that i was a linemen and a little to Irish) i tried every day to be like 5 well now at 20 years old i have come to realize a lot of things and one of those is that even though most of us never embraced u you are always gonna be an Eagle and weather u back next year or not i think most of my fellow birds fans would agree that u are the best we have ever had and that were honored to have had u with us 4 so long. so weather were rooting for #5 #4 or who knows #7 (wouldn't hurt for us to draft #15 and let him mature a little bit) you will always be #1 in the hearts of every Philly fan who has a brain and it will truly be a shame if u never get a ring on your finger

Donovan I was born and raised in Syracuse, NY. I bleed orange, and you were one of the best things to happen to our football program and the university.You are also one of the best things to happen to Eagles football--the numbers don't lie. You have character,and have not let the haters get you down. The wins are shared, the losses get put mostly on you--you understand that's the way it is and have been gracious. In my eyes you have delivered. I thought going into Dallas a few weeks ago that you would stand and deliver. That didn't happen. I never lost my confidence in you or the team. No thanks! You took us to the NFC championship 5 times. You had 5 chances to win only 2 games in a row. That's more than enough chances. You are never going to win a super bowl in philadelphia. Why is it everytime you throw an INT or throw the ball in the dirt you just laugh it off. You would never see Tom Brady or Peyton Manning do that, now would you. I'm not sure, and I never will understand all the haters that berate you constantly. This team has never seen the successes you gave us and possibly never will again. There was never a time in Eagles History that we all as fans could enter the season every year with the hopes that we do for a championship. I'll admit I hate the bad moments, but I can also take pride in the last 11 years when I have conversations with other football fans. I appreciate the fact that you want to stay. I would like to thank you for 10 great years. The one thing I ask you is to tell the OC or HC to run the ball more. If you had a running game like all the teams in the play offs you would look like a better QB to everyone, I already know you are great. Make them do it, call audibles at the line and change things up. You are smart enough to take over this team. It is long enough now for you to tell Andy this is what I am going to do. Do you think he will bench you then it will be his problem not yours. I have faith in this team and with a better defense we will win the SB.

You have had AMPLE opportunity, and you have no right to ask for more time. When it comes down to "it," you cannot deliver in the big games. Whether it's missing receivers, not being aware of the clock, or throwing up, you have disappointed at every crucial turn. Philly would love to have a championship too, but watching you throw away all of those opportunities we have had over the last 10 years, and this fan is no longer a fan of yours.

If you don't see anything, stop holding the ball, run or get rid of it. Throwing - put the ball up and let your receivers make a play (they need to earn their money too), if you're not seeing what Andy is calling, change the ****. As a die hard Eagles fan, I have mixed emotions. I really think the Eagles have a horrible draft history. I don't understand why we took Maclin when Percy Harvin was still on the board last year. Maclin is a nice addition don't get me wrong, but we needed that X factor who could be dangerous both in the running game and passing game. Kolb is a perfect example also...Why? McCoy is a decent back but Harvin could have been phenomenal both in the slot and as a RB for us. I think in the long run of things Westbrook's injury was our demise this season. As a Cunningham fan, I also would like to see you run more often. Things look bright for next season but we need some help at a few positions. We have so many weapons, I felt that we really had a shot this season. The injury bug killed us. I think we are for sure in a position now where the only way we can measure a successful season is a Super Bowl win. Just tired of being the brides maid.

Enjoy the probowl Donovan. I've followed you since Syracuse and you'll always be my favorite "clutch" QB besides Joe Montana and Fran Tarkenton. I really hope you come back to win a Superbowl for all of us dedicated fans who have been bleedin' Green for over three decades! Back in the 80's I had season tickets in one of the roudier (741) sections of the Vet and have fond memories of Reggie, Jerome and the rest of that number one defense. You need to get Dawkins back!

Donovan, i just want to say that despite all these "fans" that have given up on you, please dont forget that you have some die hard fans out there supporting you until the end, after every TD, after every INT , not matter what, we're still yelling, "GO DMAC!" welch, are you kiddin me??? clutch....dude what have you been watchin the last 10 years. Although his numbers are good. Even after all this time, we still continues to miss open wide recievers on a weekly basis. Almost never puts the ball on the money. As i watched payton, drew, aaron, and yes even romo. Its painfully obvious, Your skills are maxed out. Agree to a trade and lets move on in philly.

Unfortunately the squeaky wheel usually gets the attention, and the same can be said for the squeaky fans in Philly that must make it seem like the entire city and fan base is calling for your ouster. Ignore them and know that the silent majority is still firmly behind you. As a lifelong Eagles fan, I remember the sad days from the 70's when there wasn't even a hope that the Eagles would make it to the playoffs, let alone the SB. My 11 yr old kid has never known the Eagles to not be competitive, and EXPECTS a Superbowl every year. Thank you, and please retire as an Eagle...

Having grown up in Philly myself I know how hard we live and die with our sports teams. Given everything that happened before the season began (Dawkins leaving, Johnson dying and a new O line) I wasn't expecting much. Let me tell you, I'm pleased with how things turned out and look forward to next year. Our fans are the best and nastiest at the same time, this coulpled with high expectations every year creates what you have endured over your career. Keep up the good work, I gotta feeling next year things will gel and you will be wearing a ring at the end of the season. My hometown is the toughest to live and play in, so I tip my hat to you for putting up with this nonsense. It's not about winning it's about having fun and don't forget that. Afterall it's just a GAME......

He's done the best he could possibly do and needs to accept the fact that the Eagles will never win the Super Bowl nor will he with any other team. You are respected in New England, often criticized in Philadelphia. Most of our respect came after Superbowl 39 in Jacksonville mainly because it was a close game and the Eagles kept fighting until the end even though the Patriots won that Superbowl, which was the last time we took home a Lombardi Trophy.
