Checking In
Training camp has been going well. It's been hot but that's one of the reasons I train in Arizona - to get used to what I will have to expect at Lehigh.
There are many media outlets that come up here and cover practice and press conferences so I won't detail the football side of things. (If you are interested in my press conferences, we now post the transcripts on my website - DonovanMcNabb.com - which has undergone some recent construction. Check it out if you haven't done so lately.)
When fans come out to Lehigh they ask many of the same questions that the media does - how's practice going? who looks good?, what can we expect this year?, etc. The questions that they ask that the media doesn't are often what's it like living in a dorm?, who's your roommate?, what do you do up here besides practice?
To answer those questions I'll say this - they do keep us pretty busy up here with football. Besides the practice that is open to the fans, there are meetings, lifting, and treatments. Don't get me wrong we do have down time. During those times I like to stay off my feet. I might lay down and sleep or watch TV. Our accommodations are not bad - we all have our own bedrooms and every few players share an adjoining suite. I share an apartment with Brian Dawkins. We get along great but don't spend a lot of time together in the room. Maybe we'll watch some TV, talk about things we noticed at practice, or occasionally we'll go catch a movie. In the past if the coahes gave us the night off, I might drive home to see my wife and daughter.
Sounds boring I know. The important thing is that we are here as a team to become better football players and build some chemistry with each other.
