My Thoughts on a Couple of Friends
My thoughts and prayers go out to Jim Johnson as he battles through another round of chemotherapy to deal with cancer. Jim is one of the toughest men I’ve come across and although he has a tough battle ahead, no one is going to fight harder.
I am happy that Michael Vick has served his time and will now be afforded the opportunity to move on with his life. I’m sure he will continue to be remorseful and will learn from his experiences. Hopefully he will have the opportunity to continue his dream of playing professional football.

Damn man why in the hell won't people allow the man a second chance to turn his life around. He made a mistake and he paid dearly for it. Sometimes I think the value of the life of an animal is put in higher regard than another human life which is shameful. While I'm not an animal person, you never hear squat from PETA when a pit bull mauls a child - just silence, but when its the other way around, its heinous, a travesty, unforgiveable, etc. The most hypocritical people are the animal loving Christians, where is their ability to forgive and allow a man to find his salvation in his suffering? I hope Vick can find his way back from the public perdition he will have to endure. We have all fallen, not many are willing to endure the level of scorn and resistance he will have to endure to get back up. As for the correlation with Jim Johnson, they both have a life and death battle ahead of them. For one it is literal, for the other it is figurative.

I'm with you "Formidable06"! Everyone are so quick to burn a person at the stake like they haven't made a mistake ever, most of you have been in the doghouse at one time or another in your life, and I'm sure even a few of you NOW have some skeletons in your closet as well. I am happy for Mr. Vick and I hope he knows that not many people get a second chance at doing something great in they're lives, so its all up to him now, let the man make a living and do what's right, forgive him...

Michael Vick is not remorseful. Hate to say it, the guy grew up in a different culture, where his antecedence is deeply rooted and persists. He'll always be living with a dark cloud in his subconscious. Amazing talent, honestly just grew up in an unfortunate situation.
For the sake of his entertainment value on the field I hope he plays though.

I expect Coach Johnson to bring the same determination and grit to his defense against cancer as he has brought over the past 11 years with the Birds. Good luck Coach. With regards to Vick....your sentiment for #7 is commendable but I don't believe he has the fiber to overcome. What is interesting is that he represents everything that you are not. You have all of the same excuses available but chose not to use them. While I am not convinced that you will ever take the Birds to the Promised Land, I do respect you for the way you have carried yourself, for the most part, over the past 10 years. Not everyone can pull off the Role Model burden as well as you have. Good luck #5.

My thoughts and prayers go out to JJ and his family. I have a friend that is battling cancer as we speak and my father is a survivor. I have no doubt that all three of them will keep pushing forward and beat cancer. Good luck to Mike Vick except when you play the Eagles.
