Dixon’s Picks: Waiver Wire Additions for the Week of May 20
Another week, another set of Dixon’s Picks. This is something of an odd week in that most of the good two-start aren’t readily available in most leagues. The bulk of the others aren’t people I’d gamble on at this point. So, we have to improvise.
The first two names you’ll read are available in most leagues. But, that only gets us to four...

Julio Teheran’s Missing Changeup
After a dominant spring, many hoped Julio Teheran had turned a corner. His disappointing 2012 campaign was attributed to a variety of mechanical changes, but offseason reports suggested Teheran had corrected those flaws. His tour of the Grapefruit League appeared to validate winter reports, as he struck out 35 batters in 26 innings and posted 1.04 ERA. While Teheran’s spring was...
Braves Grapefruit League report: Week- 4
The Braves capped week-4 of Grapefruit League play over the weekend with a phenomenal outing by Julio Teheran, finishing the week with a 6-1 record.
Julio Teheran, as Andrew Hirsh wrote about here this week, has really thrived this Spring in a scenario that pins him against zero competition for the fifth starter spot. In Teheran’s 26 innings pitched this Spring, he has given up...
Julio Teheran ready for big league success?
Last season, Julio Teheran entered Spring Training with sky high potential and a solid chance at earning a permanent role in Atlanta’s rotation. However, a year later, the Columbia native traveled to Lake Buena Vista in a similar position as he did in 2012 — but with more doubts and a heap of pressure to boot.
Teheran didn’t only struggle last spring; he struggled with Triple...
Julio Teheran making believers
Julio Teheran is making believers this spring including the guy behind this keyboard. After being in just about everyone's top ten as a prospect in 2010, 2011 and even heading into 2012, Teheran got a bit blown up in his brief stop in Atlanta in 2011 and followed that up with a real downer of a season for the Gwinnett Braves Triple-A team in 2012. Suddenly, here he is in the...

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (AP) -- Julio Teheran struck out seven in six innings, Chris Johnson homered and Freddie Freeman hit a tiebreaking single in the sixth inning Sunday as the Atlanta Braves beat the New York Mets 2-1.
Bidding to earn the fifth spot in the Braves' rotation, Teheran allowed a leadoff homer to Jordany Valdespin, then gave up just two more hits. He walked two...

Chopcast: Teheran posting strong numbers
ATLANTA This is the Julio Teheran everyone has been waiting for.
Though his nine spring innings are but a small sample size, Teheran, the 22-year-old Colombian product and top Braves prospect, looks to have his confidence back. He's one of seven Braves pitchers below a 3.00 ERA this spring (2.00) and his 12 strikeouts are tied for second among all Grapefruit League participants...

Braves' Teheran shines in Dominican
Julio Teheran's last three starts before the Dominican winter league all-star break showed why the right-hander remains the Atlanta Braves' top prospect despite a difficult second season in Class AAA last summer. The 21-year-old from Colombia allowed just two hits over 16 2/3 scoreless innings for Licey, and one of the outings came Dec. 9 with general manager Frank Wren...
