In an interview on the Fight Hub TV YouTube page, Eddie Hearn reflected on the Ryan Garcia win over Devin Haney and revealed what’s next for “The Dream” following that sensational loss.

When reflecting on the Ryan Garcia vs. Devin Haney fight, Hearn said: “It was thrilling in every way, the build-up, the fight itself.” He continued: “I think we are so lucky that two guys in their prime decided to fight each other, and we see the results of that through the interest, the numbers, the fight itself.” Hearn added: “There’s a lot of conversation obviously, about Ryan coming in overweight. I do think he had a physical advantage, but I think he was very impressive on the night as well.”

A left hook in the opening round from “Kingry” brought the fight immediately to life. Haney then stunned Garcia in round three from a left hook, with Haney seemingly starting to settle down and work off his exceptional jab. 

Garcia had more sustained success in round six as the fight appeared to be slipping away. Round seven saw that trademark left hook floor Haney, who at one point looked like he wouldn’t beat the count. Two slips were called in this round, with Garcia losing a point for hitting on the break in what was an utterly chaotic round.

From round seven-10, Haney appeared in control, but Garcia once again utilised his power and floored “The Dream.” another knockdown occurred in round eleven, with “The Dream” stunned again. A confident “Kingry” showboated for the last 30 seconds of the fight before he was announced the winner of a chaotic but captivating bout.

Eddie Hearn Talks What’s Next for Haney

Many in the boxing world have called for a rematch, with Garcia welcoming a second fight straight after the first: “Yeah. Let’s run it back.” Haney also made it clear he wants the rematch “Of course. I thought it was a close fight still. I would love to rematch. I gave him a shot. It’s only right he give me a shot back.”

Discussing what will come next for Haney, Hearn said: “He’s gonna have to defend that title against Sandor Martin.” He continued: “Devin will want to defend that title.”
