Portland Trail Blazers – Salvation Lies Within

If you’re not getting better, you’re getting worse.  The Portland Trail Blazers didn’t have a draft pick, lacked the cap space to add a significant free agent, and the ones they did bring in are more glue than substance.  But this team’s future success isn’t dependent on outside talent, but more so on the current personnel getting better. I’m talking to you CJ McCollum...

Projecting Portland Trail Blazers 2014-15 rotation

Looking Ahead. The 2014 NBA Las Vegas Summer League has come and gone, and the only big event standing between the Portland Trail Blazers and the 2014-15 regular season is training camp. With all significant moves now in the past (and more likely, all moves altogether), the Blazers’ roster is set. We know who will be there come the season opener, and we have a good idea of who...

Portland Trail Blazers Summer League Observations

It has been a quiet offseason for the Portland Trail Blazers after their powerful playoff run.  Many of the issues for the team involve keeping their stars intact.  The biggest being LaMarcus Aldridge who reportedly agreed to a contract extension on July 8th, though he will not sign the extension until next year. While Portland has not had the cap room nor the roster space to be...

VIDEO: Blazers Damian Lillard puts Twitter antagonist in place

Portland Trail Blazers Point Guard Damian Liliard has, as we all do, his share of Twitter antagonists. Or as I call them “keyboard tough guys.” It’s easy for a lot of people to shoot their mouths off when they’re ensconced safely behind a computer; miles away from the person their antagonizing. It’s comes with the territory in the social media age. Especially so if you’re...

The Portland Trail Blazers are coming off a season in which they lost in the Western Conference Semifinals to the San Antonio Spurs. One such player is power forward Thomas Robinson, who averaged 12.5 minutes in 70 games last season. Although...

How NBA free agency has impacted Portland Trail Blazers

NBA free agency. It’s a time for teams to get better, and that’s exactly what the Portland Trail Blazers did with the shrewd signings of Chris Kaman and Steve Blake. Although Portland, tucked away in the Pacific Northwest, didn’t make many headlines with these acquisitions, it’s clear that they’re going to be rotation players in the 2013-14 season. Steve Blake, while...

Portland Trail Blazers: Is Their Bench Better? By Jennifer Fazioli: Lead Writer @ Hoopstuff… While the free agent frenzy continues unabated around the rest of the league, the Portland Trail Blazers’ offseason moves are essentially finished. Have The Portland Trail Blazers Improved This Offseason?

Amidst all the headline news of LeBron James and his eventual return home to Cleveland, there was actually some other things going on around the NBA, believe it or not.  What I want to talk about is the loss of Mo Williams and the signing of both Chris Kaman and Steve Blake. These moves in Rip City seemed to be quite minor, and seemingly ineffective to the franchise when looked...

Joel Freeland focused on finding ways to gain playing time with Trail Blazers despite center logjam

Joel Freeland first played for the Trail Blazers' summer league team eight years ago, and at 27, he is older than the typical summer league player. But entering a key third year in his NBA career, and coming off a dissatisfying end to his breakout 2013-14 season, Freeland is all in on the opportunity to return to Las Vegas for the second year in a row, and fourth overall, as...

What Chris Kaman signing means for Portland Trail Blazers

Portland Finds Its Big Man. The Portland Trail Blazers entered free agency knowing one thing: It needed to improve its bench.
