NUGGETS RUMORS & GOSSIP

Nuggets Rebuilding Around Gallinari, Nurkic; Could Trade Lawson, Faried

The Denver Nuggets are expected to make Ty Lawson and/or Kenneth Faried available in trade talks before the June 25th draft. The Nuggets believe Danilo Gallinari and Jusuf Nurkic are the two centerpieces of their rebuilding efforts. Denver figures to have cap space in the coming seasons, but free agency hasn't been an area of success for the franchise historically.

Denver Nuggets Shopping Kenneth Faried At The Draft?

While Denver Nuggets President Josh Kroenke steadfastly refuses to offer specific names when talking about plans to aggressively retool the roster prior to opening night of the next NBA season, it's realistic to expect point guard Ty Lawson or forward Kenneth Faried or both to be part of trade discussions prior to the June 25 draft. Expect Toronto Raptors GM Masai Ujiri to be a serious...

Sherrod Blakely.  The Celtics beat writer reports that interest in the former Sixers (and Nuggets and Wiz) big man has been rekindled even after their failed dalliance last March.  Both the C’s and McGee had mutual interest on a multi-year contract last spring...

Tim Connelly faces a huge test

Will it be a Curry or a Nene? Last night, we heard the almost audible collective groan of Denver Nuggets fans as the team kept their streak of failing to improve their stock via the NBA draft lottery. As such, the Nuggets will have the seventh selection in the upcoming draft. So then the only question truly is: Will it be a Curry or a Nene? You all know Stephen Curry. The NBA’s...

BREAKING: Nuggets stay put in 2015 NBA Draft Lottery

It was a long shot, and in the end the Nuggets fell short of moving up in the Lottery for the 13th time in team history. On the bright side the Nuggets didn’t move down for the ninth time in team history, a clear win in the Luck Department. Overall the Nuggets stayed right where their record placed them which is about all you can ask for considering the chaotic nature of the...

Is it too soon to grade the Denver Nuggets' front office moves?

Tim Connelly's barely been on the job for two years, but he's already made enough moves within that span to give an idea as to his managerial acumen. There were bad moves – the JJ Hickson, Nate Robinson and Kenneth Faried signings – but also some pretty good ones, like his draft night trade that landed Jusuf Nurkic and Gary Harris. So what do all of these moves tell us about Connelly...

Draft lottery will impact Denver Nuggets' coaching search

If you're surprised that the Denver Nuggets haven't hired a head coach yet, don't be. For one, the season still isn't over, and some of the assistant coaches the Nuggets might want to interview, such as Alvin Gentry, are still with teams in the playoffs. Another reason, though, is because of the draft lottery. As Andrew Feinstein of Denver Stiffs says:"If the Nuggets luck into picks...

Denver Nuggets’ 2015 NBA Draft Lottery kit

Few dates on the NBA calendar harbor as much significance as the night of the NBA Draft Lottery. Ty Lawson commits another social media gaffe

If Ty Lawson’s goal is to get traded, he’s doing an excellent job of giving the Nuggets incentive to do so. If his goal is to get fined by the NBA, he’s doing an even better job. Early Sunday morning Lawson introduced the world to yet another incriminating social-media snippet when he posted the video below to his Facebook timeline: Lawson also reportedly published an...

Denver Nuggets: The Perfect Nuggets Offseason

(Source: Doug Pensinger/Getty Images North America) By Ciaran Mills: Staff Writer at Hoopstuff… The Western Conference is always competitive, that is as close to a guarantee as you can get in the NBA. However, instead of bouncing back after a poor 2013-14 campaign, the Denver Nuggets sank even lower in the standings, collecting just 30 wins all year. The season was fraught...

Denver Nuggets: Preparing for the Lottery

The NBA draft lottery can be a very confusing thing. Ping pong balls and mathematical equations can twist peoples minds into a frenzy of numbers and odds. To make things simpler to Nuggets fans, there is a very low chance that the Nuggets will be in the top three, and will likely pick in the 7th spot. But that is all up to chance, and we won’t really know for certain until the...

A New Market for Will the Thrill?

After two-and-a-half seasons mostly warming the bench for the Portland Trail Blazers, mercurial guard Will Barton was traded to the Denver Nuggets in the deal that sent Arron Afflalo to Portland. Are the Denver Nuggets trying to tank?

You’ve probably heard by now that the Denver Nuggets, they of the 12th place record in the Western Conference, opted to rest three starters for their game against the Memphis Grizzlies Monday night. Ty Lawson, Danilo Gallinari and Kenneth Faried all were in street clothes as the Nuggets lost 92-81. Losing the game was, of course, the point of the entire exercise, but it was still...

Denver Nuggets fire Brian Shaw

In a less-than-surprising move, the Denver Nuggets have fired head coach Brian Shaw. The team is currently 20-39 on the season and simply hasn’t played inspired basketball this season.
