“What’s he ever done? Who has he actually beaten? I don’t think there’s any excuse for him to get cut. It never happened to me. I used to wear a face guard. No elbows can get through so you mitigate getting injured. 

“That’s what you should be doing before a fight of this magnitude – taking massive precautions.I’m blaming his trainer, I’m blaming Tyson himself for not taking that precaution, whether you’re uncomfortable in it or not. Of course the guys are going to get close to you during sparring, but from the clips I’ve seen Fury was having a bit of a push around and a move, he was looking sloppy,” Froch stated 

Those comments did not sit very well with John Fury. He took the words personally, feeling it was an unjustified criticism of Tyson’s career. John Fury has a history of calling out various people, even though the fights have not materialized.

This has happened to even Mike Tyson. But when it came to Froch, the former four-time world champion is in the Hall of Famer. Froch’s opinion understandably holds weight, but John Fury was focused more on getting the agreement in place. He vowed to face Froch if it made business sense.

The call-out is a likely publicity stunt, and it does not make a positive impression on Tyson Fury in light of the criticism coming his way. But boxing has shown that any fight can be made if it is demanded.
