Keyshawn Davis vs Jose Pedraza Results: Davis Batters Pedraza in Six Rounds
Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Lightweight prospect Keyshawn Davis (10-0, 7 KOs) really impressed on Saturday night as he systematically broke down Jose “Sniper” Pedraza (29-6-1, 14 KOs) to pick up his tenth victory. Davis showed growth in his performance and signs that he is ready for the next level of competitors.

In the first round, Pedraza brought heavy pressure with his right jab and did a great job closing the distance. Davis used a right uppercut that would get Pedraza’s attention right away. The best punch of the round was a Pedraza right hand over the top that landed cleanly. Pedraza brought a lot of pressure in the second round, but Davis landed more eye-catching shots. The only issue was the punches were one at a time.

Davis stepped it up tremendously in the third round with a vicious double left hook to the body and right uppercuts. The four-to-five punch combination had Pedraza hurt badly. In the fourth round, Davis was shoe-shining Pedraza for most of the round. Pedraza kept coming forward, but it seemed as if the snap to his punches was gone.

In the fifth round, the level of intensity lowered a bit for Davis as he went back to throwing more single shots and moving on his feet. Pedraza would land a punch here and there, but nothing to hurt Davis. As they fought into the sixth round, Davis started to open up and increase his combinations, which forced Pedraza to have a delayed reaction. Once Davis saw this, he went for the stoppage, and the referee had seen enough, calling a halt to the action.
