We have made it to July and SEC Football Media Days are coming soon.
The University of Alabama looks to return to the College Football Playoff in the fall and win a national championship. Nick Saban has several talented players, but which ones will emerge as the most impactful?
The staff at Touchdown Alabama Magazine will spotlight numerous players for the upcoming season.
After looking at Kendrick Law, our final wide receiver to spotlight is Shazz Preston.
Hometown: Saint James, La.
Position: Wide Receiver
Size: 6-0/202 pounds
2022 stats: Did not record any statistics in five games
Strengths: Size, athleticism, route-running, toughness, speed, hands, competitor, versatility
Weaknesses: Needs game reps
Shazz Preston was a four-star wide receiver from Saint James (La.) High School in the 2022 class.
He is the most physical receiver in a class with Kendrick Law, Kobe Prentice, Isaiah Bond, and Aaron Anderson (transferred to LSU).
Preston was a star in high school and trained with former Crimson Tide standout, DeVonta Smith.
He has not received much playing time as he maintained his redshirt after getting action in five matchups in 2022.
Preston brings the size, athleticism, route-running, hands, and quickness to the receiver position, but he needs opportunities in games. He is buried on the depth chart, but has a chance to show what he can do in fall camp to elevate his game.
