Cardale Jones Throws Barbs at Miami on Social Media Before Buckeyes Get Trampled by Mizzou

Hold my beer.

Never mind the fact that "Miami U" actually happens to be the Redhawks team in Ohio" — didn't Jones' alma mater get their teeth bashed in by Missouri Friday night when Ohio State was forced to play a third-string quarterback and did not have Marvin Harrison Jr. in the lineup? Where was the development of all the five-star players that were backing up the missing starters? 

Ohio State lost 14-3 and could barely muster any offense as they amassed a total of 203 yards in four quarters of football. Maybe OSU football is not what people thought it was. There are lots of questions with no apparent answers.

Newly-minted starting quarterback Devin Brown got injured early and third-string quarterback Lincoln Kienholz went 6-of-17 for 86 yards and completed 35 percent of his passes. 

At least Jacurri Brown threw two touchdowns for Miami and ran for another. 

Ohio State must have thought that the goal line was the child support line and they wanted no part of it. They led 3-0 on an early field goal and never saw the end zone.

Miami's third-team quarterback was ready to play and had an above-average effort. The quarterback position remains unsettled at Ohio State and it does not look to get any better before spring football.

Jones, who was praising the Ohio State players and coaching staff, was singing a different tune after the game Friday night.

Jones is probably still miffed that Miami flipped running back Mark Fletcher, Jr. from the Buckeye clutches last cycle and just last week flipped Justin Scott and Jordan Lyle, two highly-coveted recruits that were committed to the Buckeyes.

It is true that Miami was 7-6 this season and did not show the flashes of brilliance that were on display for the games against Texas A&M and Clemson, in all games this season, but they are a program on the rise that has now had back-to-back top 10 recruiting classes.

Miami will always be a prime territory for college-bound players to go to. There is a quality private school education waiting for them, along with a football program that has won five national titles and an NIL Collective that can support the students very well while they are in school.

Jones won a national title at Ohio State but floundered professionally, and is currently a college football analyst for CBS Sports. He also lists in his bio on Twitter that he is an author and that he wrote an autobiography that came out in October.

Perhaps his picking a war with Miami was to draw attention to himself so he could sell books. Only time will tell.
