The news comes on the heels of Thursday night's slate of thrilling contests to kick off Week 1. According to Ross Dellenger of Sports Illustrated, the expansion could come in 2024 or 2025, but will be decided by the commissioners, as will the format of the tournament.
But, I will say, this source says they would like to see the 12-team CFP implemented "as soon as possible."
