The Penn State football team has been the favorite to land former Ohio State wide receiver Julian Fleming. However, what if I told you the Nittany Lions could add another former Buckeye to the wide receiver room? Late last night true freshman Noah Rogers entered his name in the transfer portal. A player that Penn State targeted during his recruiting process. With the possibility of reuniting with Fleming, if he commits to the Nittany Lions, Rogers could see the path to immediate playing time in Happy Valley.

Former Ohio State WR & former Penn State target enters transfer portal

Noah Rogers was a four-star recruit and the No. 1 prospect coming out of North Carolina in the 2023 recruiting class according to 247sports. A native of Rolesville, North Carolina Rogers had offers from Ohio State, Auburn, Alabama, UNC, Clemson, Penn State, and several other FBS programs. He chose to take his talents to Ohio State which has been a wide receiver factory in recent years. However, Rogers is now searching for a new home for the 2024 season after entering the transfer portal.

What’s the Penn State tie to Rogers?

You may be reading this and saying what does this have to do with Penn State football? According to his timeline, Penn State offered Rogers in March of 2021. Then in September of 2021, he took an unofficial visit to State College. There are some mutual relationships already created based on these factors. The Nittany Lions are in desperate need of revamping the wide receiver room and adding Rogers would help.

It’s important to note a crystal ball has already been logged for Rogers to land at NC State which would make sense. However, it’s difficult to trust a crystal ball that was placed moments after a player enters the transfer portal. Let’s see if James Franklin can make an argument to pull in this highly talented WR.
