San Diego State LB Caden McDonald declares for NFL draft
Darren Yamashita-USA TODAY Sports

San Diego State linebacker Caden McDonald announced Tuesday that he is entering the NFL draft.

McDonald is a three-time All-Mountain West first-team selection, joining former Aztecs star Kirk Morrison, who played in the NFL from 2005-12, as the only linebackers in Mountain West history to be named first-team all-conference in three straight seasons.

"Thank you for your love and support. It is time to turn a page and start a new chapter," McDonald said in his announcement on Twitter. "... I will now be declaring for the 2023 NFL Draft."

McDonald had 30.5 tackles for loss, including 12 sacks, in a school-record 61 games over five seasons for San Diego State. He made 162 tackles and had two interceptions.

This season, McDonald had 43 tackles and two sacks among his 8.5 stops for loss.
