Texas Loses Great Defensive Asset, Five-Star Standout, To The New Transfer Portal After A Stellar Season In 2023
Maria Lysaker-USA TODAY Sports

Texas is coming off of one of the best seasons in its school history. It made it to the College Football Playoff but fell short of Washington, setting up a season of high exceptions this year. They are going to be faced with some tough challenges since they are moving conferences and just lost one of their most important players.

Texas Is Heading To The SEC

Texas is heading to the SEC this upcoming season. Instead of playing in an easy Big 12, they will face challenges almost weekly in the SEC, so the Longhorns must adjust. They are going to play some great quarterbacks like Georiga’s Carson Beck, and it’s tough enough having to play him, but now Texas will have to do it without one of their best corners.

The Longhorns Lose One Of Their Tops Defensive Backs

According to On3.com, cornerback Terrance Brooks plans to enter the transfer portal. Brooks played in 14 games last season and recorded three interceptions, so Brooks played an excellent role on last year’s defense and was a huge reason why they were able to make their first-ever College Football playoff.

NEWS: Texas CB Terrance Brooks plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal.

The Longhorns Have A Tough 2024 Season Ahead

Losing Brooks will hurt a lot since the Longhorns have a tough schedule. It starts in Week Two when they head north to play the defending champs in Michigan. It doesn’t get any easier after that since they have to play Oklahoma like they always do and Georgia, who looks like they will be the best team in college football once again.
