UCLA Football: Wide Receiver Verifies Rumored Decision To Transfer Next Season
USA TODAY Sports

The 2023 UCLA Bruins regular season has come to an end. The season didn't go quite as we all expected, but it was a fun, eventful ride. The Blue and Gold wrapped up with a 7-5 record, and will earn a (middling) bowl game.

The Bruins have a lot to look forward to as we hit 2024 soon; not only will they enter a new conference, but this team will look a bit different thanks to the transfer portal. The transfer portal in the NCAA is very similar to NBA free agency, where it involves a ton of player movement.

The Bruins have benefited from it, but they've also been victims of it, and this time, they are victims of it. Fifth-year senior UCLA wide receiver Keegan Jones announced that he will enter the Transfer Portal via Twitter/X.

The 5'10", 185-pound senior will enter the NCAA's Transfer Portal as a grad transfer.

Jones has spent his entire collegiate career at UCLA since 2019. In his five-year college career, he's spent time as a running back and wide receiver, collecting 611 rushing yards, five rush touchdowns, 34 receptions for 373 yards, and four receiving touchdowns

The Tennessee native has one year left of eligibility and will likely use that year elsewhere after spending the majority at UCLA as a backup. Losing Jones will hurt the offensive roster as they are losing one of their best speedster guys, but nonetheless, we wish him the best in his next journey, wherever that may be.

The portal is set to open on December 4th.
