The Wisconsin Badgers football program is known for producing great running backs. They have won the Doak Walker Award five times since 1990, which is the most of any school in the country. Some notable winners include Ron Dayne, Montee Ball, Melvin Gordon, and Jonathan Taylor.

Braleon Allen is the latest Badgers player hoping to make a name for himself. He is a 6-foot-2, 238-pound RB who has already earned second-team All-Big Ten honors in his first two seasons. He is expected to play in the NFL after the upcoming season.

In his sophomore year, Allen had 230 carries for 1,242 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also caught 13 passes for 104 yards. His standout play on the field has caught the attention of some Wisconsin Badgers football alumni.

Wisconsin Badgers Football Legends Weigh In on What Makes Braelon Allen Special

According to a post from Big Ten Network, here are some quotes from Wisconsin Badgers football legends Montee Ball, James White, Melvin Gordon, and Jonathan Taylor about what makes Braleon Allen special

“I like how he uses his strength & balance to break tackles and move the chains. He’s a very powerful running back & plays to his strengths very well,” Montee Ball said.

“I like his patience in setting up his blocks and the ability to accelerate through the hole when he sees a crease,” James White said.

“Vision and the jump cut laterally tied into the acceleration; he has to get back vertical up the field after the cut. Which Will help him greatly at the next level,” Melvin Gordon shared.

“He has great feet & contact balance. No matter the type of tackle attempt, his center of gravity doesn’t waiver. Allows him to keep moving forward and reach the third level,” Jonathan Taylor mentioned.
