The Wisconsin Badgers football team received an exciting crystal ball prediction months ago, and now they may actually land the recruit.

Darrion Dupree, a 2024 four-star running back from Illinois, recently commented on his status with the Wisconsin Badgers. Dupree attended a local Rivals Football camp, where he had quite the showing against other top recruits in the 2024 recruiting class. Following his performance, Dupree got the chance to comment on his current recruiting status and potential landing spots.

Wisconsin Badgers Football Eager To Land Running Back Darrion Dupree

The talented running back, Darrion Dupree, is fresh off a great showing at the Rivals Football camp. Dupree got his chance to line-up against other top recruits for the first time and held his own in the receiving drills. Dupree excelled during the one-on-one portion of the camp as well, which helped showcase his ability as a receiver.

Coming in at 5-foot-10-inches, 190-pounds, Dupree is a shifty running back that often flies past the defense with an array of moves. The running back can hard-cut back inside or spin his way to the sideline. Dupree has an incredible boost of speed as well and he has the field vision to find the open field. While he may not be the most physically imposing running back, Dupree is a tough back to bring down as he consistently breaks tackles.

During the recent camp Dupree attended, his ability as a receiver was especially put on display. The running back made excellent catches along the sideline, while also hauling in impressive receptions across the middle of the field.

Wisconsin Badgers Football: Darrion Dupree Recruiting Profile

After his strong performance at the camp, the Rivals staff members got a chance to meet up with the accomplished running back. Dupree was asked about the state of his recruitment, including his interest in the Wisconsin Badgers after setting an official visit with the team in June. When asked about why he chose to set a visit with Wisconsin, Dupree responded by saying “Wisconsin is RBU, so why not?”

The Wisconsin Badgers have had quite the historic group of running backs come through the program. Especially in the last 15 years, with the likes of James White, Montee Ball, and Melvin Gordon leading the team offensively. Currently, the torch has been passed on to Braelon Allen, who has recorded over 2500 rushing yards and 23 touchdowns in two seasons. The Junior has led the team in rushing the last two seasons and now the talented back may enter the draft following another incredible season.

Wisconsin will certainly need help at the position if Allen chooses to enter the draft following the completion of the 2023 season. With Dupree already interested in the program, the Badgers will likely try to land the running back during his official visit next month. Dupree also has an official visit set for Illinois following his visit to Madison, but has not set any other visits yet. The running back has 28 total offers and will likely set more visits in the future.

However, if the Badgers football staff nails their visit with Dupree next month, they can snag his commitment before he has the chance to step foot on another campus.
