The Wisconsin Badgers took care of Purdue on Friday night, and it was the end of the season for Senior Runningback Chez Mellusi and his season-ending injury . However, a different running back for the Badgers had a great night, and the PFF grading system recognized it. Junior Braelon Allen had a stellar evening to make him the top RB from Week 4 among Power Five schools with his 83.6 PFF Grade.

Braelon Allen for the Wisconsin Badgers

As much of a blow to the dynamic duo as Chez Mellusi going down is, Braelon Allen has been in a class of his own this season. Against Purdue, he put up 116 yards across 16 carries with 2 touchdowns. He had a 14-yard carry to a touchdown in the 2nd quarter that helped the Badgers pull away from Purdue, making it 21-3. He also had a carry for 52 yards, a season-high for the Junior.

On the season, Braelon Allen has been a boost for the Wisconsin Badgers. The Junior has 371 rushing yards on the year and has punched through six touchdowns. He’s 3rd in the Big Ten with his 371 yards, and his average of 7.1 yards per carry sits second. It’s likely that he will see plenty of action for the remainder of the season now that Mellusi is seemingly out for the remainder.
