The sizzling season is finally here. It's that time of year when people hang out at the beach, attend pool parties, host a cookout, vacation at a luxurious resort, or simply just relax. Whatever the occasion, people need the right tunes to set the proper vibes during these warm, sunny days. 

Thankfully, artists have given fans plenty of summer anthems that they can play until the end of time. Whether the song has lyrics describing the most anticipated season, production that beams with the smoothest beats, or a video highlighting the perfect summer day—there are certain songs that always get people ready for summertime. Here is a list of songs that should be on every summer playlist.

It was only right that Spotify coined the track as the 2014 song of the summer.

The album’s lead single "Smooth" is a breezy collaboration alongside Matchbox Twenty's frontman Rob Thomas. The video showcased a summer day in Spanish Harlem, from people dancing in the street, to playing a game of dominoes—it's the type of song that makes people feel smooth.
