Adam Sandler just gave a little "tap tap taparoo" to the idea of a Happy Gilmore sequel.
"It has not been discussed," Sandler said while appearing on the Dan Patrick Show with co-star Christopher McDonald, after the host asked whether making Happy Gilmore 2 is in the works. "But it certainly has been discussed on the internet."
Patrick then asked whether he had the actors' permission to officially green-light the project, and that conjured a resounding yes. "It would be a complete blast," McDonald said. "The senior tour with us two? Oh my god."
Did Adam Sandler and Christopher McDonald just green light "Happy Gilmore 2" ?!?!

This month marks the 25th anniversary since Happy Gilmore's February 1996 release. Sandler and McDonald celebrated the occasion on Twitter:

In the cult comedy classic, Sandler played the titular character, an outcast hockey player who turns to golf for salvation. McDonald served as Shooter McGavin, Happy's talented antagonist. There are plenty of famed lines that have endured over two decades from both men.
"I tell you, generations of people respond to this movie because they just love to laugh," McDonald told Vulture's Devon Ivie in an interview published Thursday. "When it came out, it was a modest hit, but when it hit television I couldn't walk down the street."
Most recently, Sandler led Netflix's Hubie Halloween last October, while McDonald last appeared in two January episodes of HBO television series Search Party.
