Adele helps couple get engaged during her 'One Night Only' concert: 'I love a surprise'

Adele commanded the stage at The Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles for her two-hour CBS primetime special Adele One Night Only, but she happily stepped aside for Quentin Brunson and Ashleigh Mann.

"This is the big surprise, and I'm very, very excited," the 15-time Grammy winner told to her star-studded audience. "I hope we can pull it off. So, tonight, we've arranged—I'm a bit nervous in case it doesn't go well. It's also a bit ironic that I'm letting this happen."

Adele explained that Brunson had reached out to "a fake show" for help in proposing to his girlfriend of seven years, Ashleigh. When the time came, Brunson had arranged for a daytime picnic and date night to celebrate Mann's first big catering gig as a vegan chef. Little did Mann know that the grand finale would be a proposal in front of Adele and A-list entertainers.

Watch the proposal unfold below:

Once Mann said yes, she and Brunson went to sit by Melissa McCarthy in the front row as Adele serenaded them with Bob Dylan's "Make You Feel My Love," which she previously covered for her 2008 debut studio album 19.

Brunson and Mann unpacked the unbelievable sequence of events on CBS This Morning:

As for Adele's crack about an engagement happening at her show being "a bit ironic," her forthcoming fourth LP 30 was penned as Adele was going through her divorce from Simon Konecki, with whom she shares nine-year-old Angelo.

The highly anticipated album drops Friday (Nov. 19).
