Alan Ritchson is throwing his considerably sized hat in the ring to be the next Batman, and we don't want to stand in his way.
In a video interview with The Hollywood Reporter (linked below), the burly actor revealed what we’ve all been thinking.
“I would love to be Batman. There, I said it. I'll shout it from the rooftops: I want to be Bruce Wayne!’”
Ritchson certainly looks the part, but he backs up his campaign by dropping some knowledge of Batman’s character, saying: “You know what his superpower is? Intelligence. Dude is the smartest superhero there is…I wanna be that guy.”
There’s just one problem: DC isn’t looking for a new Batman. The studio seems content with current Batman Robert Pattinson, with The Batman Part II scheduled for a 2 October, 2026 release date.
That said, Pattinson’s Batman belongs to a standalone DC brand called Elseworlds, leaving the door open for the square-jawed Ritchson to potentially play the Dark Knight in the mainline DCU and, one day, share the screen with David Corenswet’s Superman.
