Annie Murphy lets loose in first 'Kevin Can F*** Himself' trailer

Annie Murphy is universally beloved for being "a little bit Alexis" on the critically acclaimed television series Schitt's Creek, but the actress gave fans a contrasting glimpse Thursday afternoon.

Murphy plays the leading anti-sitcom wife in AMC's upcoming dark comedy series Kevin Can F*** Himself, due to premiere this summer:

Schitt's Creek went from small Canadian cult favorite to worldwide smash over the course of its six-season run on Pop and Netflix from 2015-20.

Murphy starred as Alexis Rose—sister to David Rose (Dan Levy), daughter to Johnny (Eugene Levy) and Moira Rose (Catherine O'Hara)—who consistently provided the perfectly timed flighty and superficial commentary to the Roses dire situation after unexpectedly going broke. The series became the first ever to win all seven major comedy categories at the 2020 Emmys, including best supporting actress in a comedy for Murphy:

It's impossible not to root for Murphy's continued success after learning that the 34-year-old nearly quit the profession entirely with $3 in her bank account before landing her breakthrough Schitt's Creek role:

In Kevin Can F*** Himself, Murphy's character Allison is driven to rebel against her daily duties as a doting housewife to Kevin (Eric Petersen).

The series was created by Valerie Armstrong with Rashida Jones serving as executive producer.
