Another delay has arisen in Hollywood, and this time, it's Lionsgate's John Wick spinoff Ballerina that is getting shifted from the 2024 calendar.

Starring Ana de Armas, Keanu Reeves, Lance Reddick, Ian McShane, Norman Reefus, Anjelica Huston, Gabriel Byrne and Catalina Sandino Moreno, the film follows Armas as Eve, who is a young female assassin seeking revenge against the people who killed her family.

Directed by Die Hard 4.0 and Total Recall director Len Wiseman, Ballerina was originally set for a June 7, 2024, release and has now been pushed to June 6, 2025.

Shay Hatten serves as writer on the film, having previously written Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 in the John Wick series. Hatten most recently penned Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon - Part One, which follows a peaceful settlement on the edge of a distant moon that finds itself threatened by the armies of a tyrannical ruling force, and a mysterious stranger living among its villagers becomes their best hope for survival.

Deadline reported the exclusive, citing the reason as "Lionsgate just wants to make the feature, produced by Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee's Thunder Road even better."
