Sarah Silverman doesn't understand how Jennifer Lopez is so beautiful: 'She's electric'

Jennifer Lopez's enduring beauty and power is confounding for all, including Sarah Silverman.

The Emmy-winning actress, stand-up comedian and writer is known for her raunchy jokes and perspectives, and she did provide plenty of that during her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. However, she was very serious when praising J. Lo.

"You see her on Instagram, you see on TV and in movies, and they have filters, and they do beauty work, and yeah, she's beautiful," Silverman said of her Marry Me co-star. "But in person, she's a monster. No. She is so beautiful! I mean, I look at her this close, and I'm just like, 'How?! How is it possible?'"

"Amazing singer, amazing dancer, awesome actor," she continued. "I love her movies. Any time her movie is on, I stay there. She's electric."

Marry Me is a forthcoming romantic comedy due to release on Valentine's Day, and it stars Lopez as international pop star Kat Valdez—since that's a real stretch for her to play—who is stood up by her equally famous boyfriend Bastian (Maluma) after his infidelity is publicized.

In an epic rebound move, Kat decides to impulsive marry schoolteacher Charlie (Owen Wilson), who was only in the audience for her concert because his best friend, Parker (Silverman), forced him to come with her.

Silverman told Fallon that Wilson is "another favorite" of hers but in "such a different realm" than Lopez.

"His writing, his comedy, his beautiful acting," she said, "and they're so different, but it's electric. It really is. [Marry Me] is bringing back the rom-com."
