We want to have a meal at these 25 fictional restaurants

Television and film have given us many memorable and beloved restaurants. They're so good that we would not mind stopping by for a visit — breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Here is our look at some of the more notable fictional restaurants.

Arnold’s Drive-In ('Happy Days')

Arnold’s Drive-In ('Happy Days')
CBS Television Distribution

Operated by Arnold (Pat Morita), then Al Delvecchio (Al Molinaro). This might be the most iconic restaurant in television history. Fonzie (Henry Winkler) had an "office" there. There were sock hops, dances, weddings, concerts, and just about anything else the Happy Days gang wanted to celebrate. A truly special place that made Milwaukee famous, at least in a fictional sense.

Bob’s Burgers ('Bob's Burgers')

Bob’s Burgers ('Bob's Burgers')
Bento Box Entertainment; Wilo Productions Buck & Millie Productions; 20th Century Fox Television; 20th Television

Located on Ocean Avenue, Bob's Burgers is a family-run operation with Bob and his wife, Linda Belcher, running the show. Bob's place is unassuming, but the food is worthy enough to draw regulars. The restaurant is known for its "Burgers of the Day." Some of our favorites include the "Hit Me With Your Best Shallot" burger, "Edward James Olive-most" burger, and "Sympathy for the Deviled Egg" burger.

Café Nervosa ('Frasier')

Café Nervosa ('Frasier')
NBC

The first of our back-to-back coffee houses to feature. Café Nervosa provided one of the settings for this hugely successful Kelsey Grammar vehicle. Frasier and the gang spent plenty of time here getting highly caffeinated and noshing on cakes and pastries. It also proved a haven for Frasier to offer plenty of free advice to brother Niles (David Hyde Pierce) or Roz (Peri Gilpin).

Central Perk ('Friends')

Central Perk ('Friends')
The WB Television Network

Central Perk is technically a coffee house, but it did serve food. Pastries, bagels, and various other sweets, so we'll put it on the list. It's one of the most memorable hangout spots in television history, enough that pop-up versions have surfaced across America recently for those fans of Friends who can't get enough of the massively popular sitcom.

Dog Years ('American Pie' franchise)

Dog Years ('American Pie' franchise)
YouTube

This hot dog place was the preferred choice of Oz (Chris Klein), Jim (Jason Biggs), Kevin (Thomas Ian Nicholas), and Finch (Eddie Kaye Thomas) during the American Pie franchise of films. Most notably, in the first installment. Dog Years is not a hole-in-the-wall joint but a casual place with an upscale-looking counter and probably pretty fair service. Finch's red drink during the first movie looked pretty good.

Dorsia ('American Psycho')

Dorsia ('American Psycho')
Universal Studios

In the 1980s, Dorsia was apparently the hottest restaurant among the yuppie sect in New York City. It was nearly impossible to get an 8:30 p.m. reservation on a Friday, but somehow suave, corporate raider Paul Allen (Jared Leto) managed to score one. "Great sea urchin ceviche." When Patrick "nobody goes there anymore" Bateman (Christian Bale) tried to get the same "res," he was not as fortunate.

Bluth's Original Frozen Banana ('Arrested Development')

Bluth's Original Frozen Banana ('Arrested Development')
YouTube

Who doesn't love a frozen banana? Especially one from the somewhat popular boardwalk stand run by the dysfunctional Bluth family. It's usually best to show up when George Michael (Michael Cera) and Maeby (Alia Shawkat) are working since there's a good chance of scoring some free food. Favorites include The George Daddy (frozen banana dipped in chocolate, placed between chocolate graham crackers) and The G.O.B.(frozen banana double dipped in chocolate with double nuts).

Good Burger ('Good Burger')

Good Burger ('Good Burger')
Paramount Pictures

Home of its famed secret sauce, Good Burger seems like a fun place to work, though it's perplexing how employees get anything done due to the antics of Ed (Kel Mitchell) and Dexter (Kenan Thompson). Still, if we have a choice of grabbing some food from Good Burger and rival Mondo Burger, we will go with the former. The food seems better, and the customer service is more entertaining.

Jack Rabbit Slim's ('Pulp Fiction')

Jack Rabbit Slim's ('Pulp Fiction')
Miramax Films

While the menu is a little pricey ($5 for a milkshake?), the atmosphere is why people come to this Los Angeles-area retro spot. The place is known for its "twist" dance contest. With a prestigious trophy on the line, winning this event is quite the honor, though nobody might ever be as good as past champions Vincent Vega (John Travolta) and Mia Wallace (Uma Thurman).

Joe's Pie Diner ('Waitress')

Joe's Pie Diner ('Waitress')
Fox Searchlight Pictures

Joe's is more than just a restaurant that serves some of the best and most innovative pie flavors ("The Spanish Dancer" and "Baby Baby Pie" are a couple of the crowd pleasers) in the country. The food was made with love and care, especially when Jenna Hunterson (Keri Russell) was on the job. The staff is entertaining, and the atmosphere is charmingly basic for a small-town oasis.

The Krusty Krab ('SpongeBob SquarePants')

The Krusty Krab ('SpongeBob SquarePants')
Nickelodeon

Home of the famous "Krabby Patty" and its secret formula, the Krusty Krab is a Bikini Bottom institution. In fact, it's been referred to as " "the finest eating establishment ever established for eating." That's a lofty proclamation. Owned by Mr. Krabs, SpongeBob operates the grill as the trusty fry cook while his pal Squidward handles the cash register.

Los Pollos Hermanos ('Breaking Bad'; 'Better Call Saul')

Los Pollos Hermanos ('Breaking Bad'; 'Better Call Saul')
AMC

Let's for a second play under the assumption that we don't know what's happening behind the scenes at this fried chicken haven. (You know, the business being used as a front for Gus Fring's meth business.) The popular chain gets a fair amount of business in the Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul universe, but it still seems like a good place to grab a quality two-piece meal with fries and a drink.

Luke's Diner ('Gilmore Girls')

Luke's Diner ('Gilmore Girls')
YouTube

One of the most beloved diners in Stars Hollow and television history. Owner Luke Danes (Scott Patterson) practically lived here. He literally lived above the restaurant. The coffee is always hot, while the burgers and omelets are to die for. Plus, if you're regulars like Lorelei (Lauren Graham) and Rory (Alexis Bledel), then you can pretty much have the run of the place.

14 of 25

The Max ('Saved by the Bell')

The Max ('Saved by the Bell')
Rysher Entertainment

The Max was your typical high school burger hangout spot. This was like a second home for Zack Morris (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) and the gang. They held fundraisers, a dance marathon, and other various events at the restaurant, which seemed to have more space than we saw on television. Kelly Kapowski (Tiffani Amber Thiessen) worked there (and dated the manager). We're not sure if the food was good, but the atmosphere was fun.

Mel's Diner ('Alice')

Mel's Diner ('Alice')
Warner Bros. Television Distribution

Located in Phoenix, Mel's was a favorite among truckers and had its share of regulars. Plus, this greasy spoon served up plenty of attitude with your pancakes. From the sarcasm Mel (Vic Tayback) dished out at the grill to Flo (Polly Holliday) telling just about everybody to "kiss my grits." Meanwhile, fellow waitresses Alice (Linda Lavin) and Vera (Beth Howland) were a little more gracious to their customers.

Monk's Café ('Seinfeld')

Monk's Café ('Seinfeld')
Sony Pictures Television

Another iconic eatery with a real-life location (Tom's Restaurant) on Manhattan's Upper West Side has become a fan favorite for hungry folks and gawkers alike. Many of the schemes plotted by Jerry (Jerry Seinfeld), George (Jason Alexander), Elaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), and Kramer (Michael Richards) were hatched at Monk's over a tuna melt, chicken salad sandwich, or cup of coffee.

Mooby's ('Dogma'; 'Clerks II')

Mooby's ('Dogma'; 'Clerks II')
The Weinstein Company

The delectable fried and other unhealthy delights (like those breakfast sandwiches better known as the Egg-a-Mooby Muffin) at this New Jersey fast-food hop are showcased at various points during Kevin Smith's View Askewniverse. We get an in-depth look at the operation when Dante (Brian O'Halloran) and Randal (Jeff Anderson) continue their underachievement as employees behind the counter in Clerks II.

Paunch Burger ('Parks and Recreation')

Paunch Burger ('Parks and Recreation')
YouTube

Yes, Paunch has some of the tastiest and meatiest burgers in Pawnee. However, it's truly known for its outrageous drink cup sizes. This is the place where the smallest beverage is 64 ounces. Still thirsty? Try the regular at 128 ounces, and the parched can go with the child size at a healthy 512 ounces. Maybe now we know why Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman) is such a big fan.

The Peach Pit ('Beverly Hills, 90210')

The Peach Pit ('Beverly Hills, 90210')
CBS Television Distribution

Owned by the warm and caring Nat Bussichio (Joe E. Tata), this burger joint was a hip spot for the kids from West Beverly High to hang out and contemplate their dysfunctional lives. Brandon Walsh (Jason Priestley) worked there, and Dylan (the late Luke Perry) even had some co-ownership action. In later years, the Pit expanded to include "The Peach Pit ... After Dark," a club that the usual suspects frequented.

Perry's Pizza ('Fast Times at Ridgemont High')

Perry's Pizza ('Fast Times at Ridgemont High')
Universal Studios

Perry's might be your typical shopping mall food option, but we hear that the meatball sandwich is pretty good. Plus, the high school employees, specifically Stacy (Jennifer Jason Leigh) and Linda (Phoebe Cates), are very friendly and not opposed to giving their phone numbers out to customers. They also have quite an extensive collection of lost and found items.

The Pit ('A Different World')

The Pit ('A Different World')
YouTube

A Hillman College institution run by the respected and beloved Mr. Gaines (Lou Myers). He's a wise-cracking and wisdom-offering cook who can get in good with any student from any background. The Pit was also a safe place for Dwayne (Kadeem Hardison), Whitley (Jasmine Guy), and the rest of the Hillman gang to get away from the rigors of higher education.

Pizza Planet ('Toy Story')

Pizza Planet ('Toy Story')
YouTube

One of Andy Davis' favorite restaurants. Shaped like the planet Saturn and known for its out-of-this-world pizza, Pizza Planet was also the place that Woody (Tom Hanks) and Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen) were somewhat cluelessly looking for Andy after the pair was left at a nearby gas station during the first installment of the film franchise.

Rob's Place ('What's Happening!!')

Rob's Place ('What's Happening!!')
YouTube

This Los Angeles burger place was like a second home to "Raj" (Earnest Thomas), Dwayne (Haywood Nelson), and Rerun (the late Fred Berry). Waitress Shirley (the late Shirley Hemphill) and her delightful brand of sarcasm only added to the fun. The place was so popular that the Doobie Brothers even showed up on one occasion.

Vesuvio ('The Sopranos')

Vesuvio ('The Sopranos')
HBO

When Tony (the late James Gandolfini) and his friends or family wanted a classier, upscale night out, they would head over to this Artie Bucco-run business. The food was top-notch, and the drinks were ever-flowing. However, it was sad to see the place catch fire early in the series. Of course, Tony's subtly overbearing mother had a little something to do with all that.

Williamsburg Diner ('2 Broke Girls')

Williamsburg Diner ('2 Broke Girls')
Warner Bros. Television Distribution

The hipster vibe of Brooklyn's Williamsburg neighborhood did not rub off on the diner. Max (Kat Dennings) and Caroline (Beth Behrs) loathe their jobs as waitresses, but it's still a rather entertaining place. Naïve manager Han Lee (Matthew Moy), perverted cook Oleg (Jonathan Kite), and wise-cracking cashier Earl (Garrett Morris) all make the hours dealing with those annoying customers go by a little faster.
