Just a year after Romo dropped a snap on a field-goal attempt, which resulted in the Cowboys losing in the NFC wild-card round to the Seahawks, Dallas suffered an upset loss as the No. 1 seed to the New York Giants in January 2008. Prior to the game, pictures surfaced that Romo and a few teammates spent their bye week before the playoffs at Cabo San Lucas and Simpson was there. Romo and Simpson broke up in July 2009.
