Draymond Green Reveals A Heartwarming Donation

Emotions were running high for Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors on Monday night.

Not only was he feeling a lot because of the big victory over the Memphis Grizzlies, he was also still heartbroken about the loss of a true friend.

Green was reeling from the death of former Michigan State star Adreian Payne, who was shot and killed early Monday morning in Orlando, Florida.

The Warriors star once played alongside Payne when they were both attending Michigan State and became very close.

Following the game, Green made a huge announcement: he and his wife plan to donate $100,000 to a foundation in honor of the former Spartan superstar.

Green said it’s the least he can do to honor a man who touched many and inspired an entire fanbase.

Green Gives Back

Green had a few more comments about Payne’s passing.

“I am going to go home and sit on my podcast and talk because I can pause that and cry if I need to cry. I don’t like to cry in front of people,” Green said.

He then revealed his plans to donate the $100,000 and called upon the rest of his Spartan family to do what they can to honor Payne’s memory.

Green was uncharacteristically quiet following the game.

That’s not a surprise, his emotions were running high.

While the loss of Payne is terrible and truly painful, the fact that Green is looking to do something positive because of it is a touching and powerful thing.
