Liam Gallagher has taken to Twitter to reveal his relief at Manchester City not signing Harry Kane.

As Sky Sports reported on Wednesday, Kane had confirmed via Twitter that he would not be leaving at Tottenham.

This is after, as is mentioned in the report, Man City offered as much as £100M in exchange for the England captain.

Daniel Levy was always going to make it difficult for Kane to negotiate a move away from Spurs, especially to another Premier League club.

His valuation of the striker was seemingly insurmountable for Man City, but celebrity fan Liam Gallagher doesn’t appear fussed.

He took to Twitter to reveal he is in fact glad that Kane will not be heading to City.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and football’s an opinions game.

However, we can’t help but think that Gallagher is going to end up eating his words. Man City could really do with signing a striker of Kane’s calibre this summer.

The champions lost Sergio Aguero and are now set to finish the transfer window without having signed a recognised striker, let alone a world-class one.

Perhaps it will provide Ferran Torres with the boost of confidence he needs to make that role his own, but few would bet on him out-scoring Kane this season.

It’s difficult to see where the downside would have been, were City able to get a deal for Kane over the line.
