Adolis Garcia of Texas Rangers in Elite Club as World Series Gets Going Friday Night

Texas Rangers' outfielder Adolis Garcia, who just won MVP of the ALCS, is in an elite club in playoff baseball history as the World Series kicks off on Friday night.

If the Rangers are going to beat the Diamondbacks and win their first World Series title, Garcia will have to be at the center of it. He's hitting .327 this postseason through 52 at-bats. He has seven homers and 20 RBI. He's posted an OPS of 1.102 and is always situated right in the middle of the Rangers order.

This postseason run follows up a brilliant regular season for Garcia as well. He made the All-Star team in the American League and finished the year at .245 with 39 homers and 107 RBI. He's in his fifth major league season with the Cardinals and Rangers, having become a regular for Texas in 2021. Lifetime, he has 97 homers and 299 RBI. He's stolen 50 career bases.

Game 1 of the World Series begins at 8:03 p.m. ET and will be played at Globe Life Field in Arlington. Nathan Eovaldi (TEX) pitches against Diamondabcks ace Zac Gallen.

Eovaldi is 4-0 this postseason while Gallen is 2-2 with a 5.24 ERA.
