Angels star Mike Trout points out teammate tipping pitches

Suffice to say, the 2022 MLB season hasn't been kind to the Los Angeles Angels. The frustration felt by the team was on display yet again on Tuesday night when slugger Mike Trout became visibly irritated with relief pitcher Elvis Peguero.

Peguero was lit up for four earned runs in what ended up being an 11-4 loss to the Chicago White Sox. The Angels broadcast then caught Trout signaling in the outfield that his teammate was tipping his pitches.

Trout's pantomime and body language are just a glimpse into the poor season Los Angeles is having. The team entered Wednesday 36-41 on the season despite having a lineup that boasts a mostly healthy Trout and reigning AL MVP Shohei Ohtani. The Angels fired manager Joe Maddon in early June while the team was marred in a 12-game losing skid, but things have yet to improve. After setting a franchise record with 14 straight losses, the team was part of a massive brawl on Sunday night against the Seattle Mariners that resulted in interim manager Phil Nevin being suspended for 10 games.

The Angels finish up their series against the White Sox on Wednesday before hitting the road to take on the AL West-leading Houston Astros.
