Brewers reveal timetables for two injured pitchers

The Milwaukee Brewers have been without pitcher Adrian Houser due to a groin injury since the conclusion of spring training and recently lost Matt Bush due to rotator cuff tendinitis. Recovery wise, they are on opposite ends of the spectrum. Houser is currently on a minor league rehab stint and Matt Bush is just starting to recover.

On Sunday, Houser threw 69 pitches over 4.2 innings of work for the Nashville Sounds. He gave up six hits, three of them being infield hits, struck out two batters, and didn’t allow any earned runs. The plan is for him to make one more start in Triple-A and then reassess.

Plan is for Adrian Houser to make another start at Class AAA Nashville and then reassess. Reports were positive after yesterday’s outing.

Bush, on the other hand, will begin a two- to four-week period of not throwing. His shoulder became painful after a blow-up outing against the Boston Red Sox on Sunday, and his velocity has dropped since last season. He has not yet seen a doctor, but the fact he could not throw for a month implies that this may be a lengthy process.

Plan is to shut Matt Bush down for 2-4 weeks to rest. Is yet to see the doctor. Velo drop was apparent since last year and Bush said that along with shoulder pain let him know something wasn’t right.
