Dodgers ace Trevor Bauer to be out through at least All-Star break?

Los Angeles Dodgers ace and reigning National League Cy Young Award winner Trevor Bauer is on paid administrative leave until at least Friday amid disturbing allegations of sexual assault.

According to ESPN, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters Monday he does not envision Bauer immediately returning to the rotation if his leave ends ahead of the weekend.

ESPN added that MLB can request that Bauer's leave gets extended another seven days in cooperation with the MLB Players Association. He has denied any wrongdoing per a statement released by his attorney but did not appeal being placed on leave. He has already missed one start and would see his spot in the rotation pass him by at least once more if he doesn't pitch again before the All-Star break that begins for the Dodgers after they face the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday.

Earlier in the day, ESPN's Buster Olney reported MLB has spoken with the lawyer representing the woman who has accused Bauer but also wants to talk with her directly. The 30-year-old right-hander is under investigation by the Pasadena Police Department, and he could potentially go on indefinite leave until that investigation ends.
