Dodgers Rumors: Writer Predicts James Outman Finishes Top 3 in NL Roy Voting
USA TODAY Sports

This MLB season we have seen a ton of incredible performances from rookies. They have been electric all year long, and the game of baseball is in great hands moving forward.

One of those rookies comes from your Los Angeles Dodgers, and that is outfielder James Outman. Outman is in the midst of a strong first full season for LA.

He is currently in the running for the Rookie of the Year award in the National League, although there are a few players ahead of him. But being in the discussion is no small task and shows how good he has been this season.

One writer believes that he will end up in the top three of the award voting, but fall short of actually being named the winner.

Kerry Miller of Bleacher Report has Outman coming in third behind Corbin Carroll from the Arizona Diamondbacks and Elly De La Cruz from the Cincinnati Reds.

"Also, where the heck is the love for Los Angeles' James Outman? He got out to an incredible start to the year, posting a 1.122 OPS while playing in each of the team's first 22 games. He then cooled off in a hurry for about 10 weeks, but he has heated back up in a big way, batting .320 with five home runs dating back to July 4."

Per Bleacher Report

If he were to finish in the top three of voting, that would be impressive in its own right. Outman has shown major promise as a rookie and is likely a part of the Dodgers plans moving forward.

For the season, Outman is hitting .256 with 15 home runs and 52 runs batted in. He started the year out on fire cooled down in the middle months before taking off again as of late.

Hopefully, Outman can continue this level of production down the stretch. LA is going to need him come playoff time, and that is when he really can show his worth to the team.
