Eddie Rosario grand slam gives Braves 8-5 win over D-backs
Joseph Rondone-USA TODAY Sports

In what looked to be another series victory for the Diamondbacks, Eddie Rosario blasted a grand slam in the ninth inning to give the Braves an 8-5 win.

Arizona entered the ninth with a 5-3 lead, but reliever Miguel Castro found himself in trouble right away. After a walk, a base hit, and an intentional walk, the Braves loaded the bases with one out.

Then, Eddie Rosario, after being silent all afternoon, sent a ball 381 feet into the right field bleachers with two outs.

The loss was eerily similar to a few weeks prior, when they fell to the Phillies due to a two-out ninth inning two-run home run from Trea Turner.

Bullpen collapses late in games have been a consistent theme for the D-backs all season. This is especially the case when they get solid starting performances like they did from Zac Gallen today.

Gallen threw six innings, allowed just three runs, and exited the game with a 5-3 lead. It looked as if he would grab his seventh home win of the season.

Instead, the Diamondbacks offense fell silent in the final five innings, and the Braves capitalized on this opportunity.

Atlanta ended up outhitting the D-backs 14-8, led by a four-hit game from second baseman Ozzie Albies. This was his second four-hit game of the season.

Next up for the Diamondbacks is a six-game road trip that starts against the Washington Nationals on Tuesday. It will be rookie Tommy Henry starting this series on the bump as Arizona attempts to get back in the win column.
