Former Padres Outfielder Signs With NPB Team in Japan

Dickerson, 33, was with the Padres' organization for five years from 2015-2019.

After being drafted by the Washington Nationals in 2008, he bounced around before winding up with the Padres via a trade with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2013.

Dickerson would then make his MLB debut with San Diego in 2015, and play in 84 games in 2016, slashing .257/.333/.455 with 10 home runs and 37 runs batted in.

Dickerson would miss the 2017 and 2018 seasons with multiple injuries, and played in just 12 games with San Diego in 2019 before being traded to the division rival San Francisco Giants.

Dickerson was in San Francisco until 2021, played with the Atlanta Braves in 2022 and played in the Atlantic League and the Mexican League in 2023.

Now, Dickerson is heading to Japan, as he continues his professional baseball career.

At just 33 years old, Dickerson has plenty of time to potentially make a comeback to Major League Baseball if he so chooses.

But for now, the lifetime .255 hitter will head to Japan.
