The New York Yankees are already getting a nice return for their investment after trading for 2017 NL MVP Giancarlo Stanton. The big man blasted a two-run home run in the first inning on Opening Day against J.A. Happ.

This tremendous opposite-field blast drove in lead-off hitter, left-fielder Brett Gardner, who had reached first base on an error by Curtis Granderson. But Stanton wasn't done for the day yet as he also took former Yankee Tyler Clippard deep in the Bombers' half of the ninth inning.
He did it again. Giancarlo Stanton, his 2nd HR on Opening Day for the Yankees. 3-for-5, 2 HR, 3 R, 4 RBI. Not bad. #PinstripePride pic.twitter.com/NIyoN4kKjp

Clearly, Stanton is going to fit in just fine wearing pinstripes for the Yankees this year. Heaven have mercy on opposing pitchers who have to deal with New York’s nightmare of a lineup.
