Jose Ramirez Is Maintaining A Dominant Stretch In MVP Voting

Jose Ramirez has never won an American League MVP Award.

Despite a dominant start to his career, Ramirez has never finished at the top.

However, since 2017, the Cleveland Guardians star has consistently placed in the top five in MVP voting in every season except for 2021, when he finished sixth.

But in each season, he’s been a top-10 finisher in the voting.

This season, Ramirez placed fourth in the voting.

On Twitter, Guardians insider Zack Meisel posted an update on where Ramirez has finished in the MVP voting, including his finish this season.

Ramirez was behind Aaron Judge, Shohei Ohtani, and Yordan Alvarez, respectively.

J-Ram Finished Top 5 In MVP Voting

Before too long, Ramirez could be an MVP.

His regular season stats certainly warranted some consideration on his behalf.

The 30-year-old slugger hit .280 with 29 home runs and drove in 126 runs.

He also posted an OPS of .869, picked up 78 extra-base hits, 44 doubles, and racked up 309 total bases.

Cleveland gave Ramirez a five-year contract extension prior to the start of the 2022 season.

So far, the veteran slugger has rewarded the Guardians for their investment with yet another solid season, one which got him into the top five in MVP voting for the American League.

Ramirez helped guide the Guardians to a 92-win season, which got them their first AL Central title since 2018.

Cleveland also eliminated the Tampa Bay Rays in the Wild Card round before falling short in the ALDS against the New York Yankees.

While Ramirez has still yet to win an MVP Award, the time will come.
