Jurickson Profar Exits Padres' Final Game Before Korea With Injury
USA TODAY Sports

Jurickson Profar, the potential Padres' Opening Day left fielder, has exited Wednesday's Cactus League game early due to injury.

Profar, who was 3-for-3 with a home run, went down at first base after rounding the bag hard. He stayed down for a while before limping off the field under his own power.

Profar was enjoying his best game of the spring, and was making a serious case to open the season as the Padres' starting left fielder.

Hopefully the injury is not too severe, and he's able to join the team in Korea.

AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reported that Profar went back to the complex, walking on his own without too much of a limp.

The Padres leave for Korea after Wednesday's game, with Opening Day against the Dodgers a week away on March 20.

Outfield depth is already a concern for San Diego, with shortstop turned center fielder Jackson Merrill likely to get the Opening Day start alongside Fernando Tatis Jr. Jose Azocar is the only other outfielder on the roster.

The Padres have been linked to multiple free agent outfielders, but it's unlikely any of them would be able to join the team in Korea at this point.

We'll continue to provide updates on Profar when we know more.
