It's a new week in MLB, which means it's time to kick off another winning week of strikeout props. Let's do just that with my three favorite K props for Monday night's slate.
The Philadelphia Phillies haven't been good offensively coming out of the All-Star break. Over their last 10 games, the Phils are hitting .232 as a team with 102 strikeouts and only 45 runs scored. I think they'll continue to struggle Monday against Dean Kremer, who's gone over 5.5 Ks in two of his last three starts and four of his last seven. Kremer has also gone over this number in four of his last five road starts.
This number doesn't make much sense to me. Graham Ashcraft has struck out more than three batters only one time in his last seven starts. In two starts against the Milwaukee Brewers this season, the right-hander has given up 14 hits and 11 earned runs, and he managed just two Ks in both games. I can't envision Ashcraft magically figuring out how to quell this lineup Monday, so I'm fine swallowing some juice on this under.
Quinn Priester made his MLB debut last Monday against the Cleveland Guardians, and he surrendered seven hits and seven earned runs while striking out just two batters in 5.1 innings. Now the Pittsburgh Pirates starter has to face a San Diego Padres lineup that's recorded the second-fewest strikeouts per game since the All-Star break (6.9). This isn't a great matchup for the youngster to get back on track, so let's hit the under 3.5 here.
