MLB best bets, strikeout props for Tuesday 8/15: Can Adrian Houser cool off the red-hot Dodgers?

Boom! That's a strikeout prop sweep to start the week, folks. There isn't much time to celebrate, though, as there's another full slate of baseball on deck for Tuesday. Let's keep it rolling with my three favorite K props of the day.

Yusei Kikuchi over 6.5 Ks (+100 FanDuel)

The Philadelphia Phillies started the month of August on fire with 6.8 runs per game in their first 11 contests, but they finished their most recent series with just one run and 21 strikeouts over the final two games. This lineup has been streaky all season long, and they might be on the verge of another cold streak at the plate. Yusei Kikuchi, meanwhile, has surrendered just four earned runs over his last five starts and recorded eight strikeouts twice in that span. The Phillies have the second-most Ks against left-handed pitching this year, so this is a great matchup for Kikuchi to shine.

Josiah Gray under 4.5 Ks (-110 DraftKings)

The Boston Red Sox are simply not striking out right now. The Sox are averaging just 5.8 Ks per game over their last five contests, which is the second-best mark in MLB in that span. Josiah Gray has cleared this number just once in his last five starts, and he's surrendered 14 earned runs and 12 walks along the way. I don't see him lasting very long in this one.

Adrian Houser over 3.5 Ks (+105 DK)

This one isn't for the faint-hearted.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have been mashing of late with a .295 batting average, .884 OPS, and 86 runs scored over the last two weeks. In that same span, the Dodgers have recorded the fewest strikeouts per game in MLB (6.15). Only the Atlanta Braves are seeing the ball better than LA right now, but I still trust Adrian Houser to clear this number. Houser has gone over 3.5 Ks six times in his last seven starts, and he's gone at least five innings in six of those games. Scared money don't make money around here.
