MLB best bets, strikeout props for Tuesday 9/19: Get 'em while you can

Boom! We brought out the brooms on Monday for a 3-0 sweep in strikeout props to start the week. Let's keep the momentum rolling with my three favorite K props for Tuesday's MLB slate. 

Joey Lucchesi under 3.5 Ks (+100 FanDuel)

Joey Lucchesi has been a bright spot for the New York Mets this year with his 2.83 ERA, but he hasn't been getting it done in the strikeout department. The left-hander is averaging a career-low 6.2 strikeouts per nine innings, and he's recorded just 2.0 Ks per game since his nine-strikeout performance in his season debut. The Miami Marlins have the sixth-lowest strikeout rate (23.3 percent) in MLB this year and the sixth-fewest strikeouts against lefties (281). Take the under. 

Kyle Gibson under 4.5 Ks (-142 FD)

We've been fading starting pitchers going up against the Houston Astros all year, and there's no reason to stop now. Over the last 15 days, the Astros have the highest OPS (.847) and the second-lowest strikeout rate (18.9 percent) in MLB. Now they get to face Baltimore Orioles starter Kyle Gibson, who's gone under 4.5 Ks in three straight starts while giving up 11 earned runs in that span. This isn't the lineup you want to face if you're looking for a bounce-back start. 

Luis Castillo over 7.5 Ks (+105 DraftKings)

Unlike the Astros, the Oakland Athletics lineup has been abysmal of late. The As are batting just .174 with a league-worst .514 OPS and only eight runs scored over the last week. They've also recorded a 35.5 percent strikeout rate over their last five games, so this is an offense that's completely lost at the moment. Enter Luis Castillo, who averages 9.9 strikeouts per nine innings and racked up eight strikeouts in six scoreless innings in his lone start against Oakland this season. This is a great spot for an over.
