MLB best bets: Wiesguy's 2 Picks and a Prop for 4/27

Last night was another winning night at 2-1, including a couple of + value winners. It could have been a perfect night if the Mariners had not blown it at Philly in the bottom of the ninth.

Today, the sports and sports betting world will be focused on the NFL Draft (I know I will be). Nevertheless, after a bunch of afternoon games in MLB we still have five evening games to choose from so let's see if we can add another winning day this week.

Bet Tracking

Favorite Picks: 5-5 (-11 Units)
Underdog Pick: 5-5 (+10 Units)

Prop Pick: 7-3 (+42.5 Units)

Winning Days: 7 of 10

In Review: Wednesday, April 26

Seattle Mariners -115 (loss)
This bet was looking great until it wasn't. The M's bullpen gave up the lead to cost us a 3-0 day

Pittsburgh Pirates +120 (win)
The hottest team in the NL bounced back to beat the Dodgers behind a masterful performance by starter Roansy Contreras.

Mackenzie Gore Over 5.5 Strikeouts +115 (win)
This was an easy one. Gore passed this total in the 4th inning on the way to a 10K performance.

MLB Picks for Thursday, April 27

Favorite

Baltimore Orioles -1.5 (at Detroit Tigers) (+115)

Fading the Tigers might be enough of a strategy on its own. Baltimore was the lowest odds favorite among the games this evening at -150 which is why the run line made the most sense. Kyle Gibson has yet to lose with the O's and while he is far from elite, we don't need him to be to cash this game. In all 5 of his starts, Baltimore has scored at least 5 runs and that should be enough support to get a comfortable win.

Underdog

Chicago White Sox +135 (vs. Tampa Bay Rays)

I know, I am countering my own wisdom from just a couple of days ago in fading the Rays. They have not been as sharp this week though and White Sox starter Dylan Cease is more than capable of shutting down a lineup. Yes, I am well aware that the White Sox have not scored at all in the last couple of games and will be facing Shane McClanahan, one of the best pitchers in baseball. Chicago is a mess but that is why this is priced this way, plays like the O's above are a nice option to balance this one.

Prop

Andrew Heaney Under 5.5 Strikeouts +120

If you are a follower of this space you know I almost always go over with props. For this one, I banking on a less-than-stellar outing by the lefty starter. In four starts he has had more than four Ks only once. That was a 10 K outing against lowly Kansas City. That certainly drags up the average in a small sample size and gives us a chance to hit this under-the-radar play.
